I am really excited to see this kid in a Marquette uniform next season. He can really do it all on the court. All we have to hope for is that he can play a little defense and I think he will see the court as much as any freshman did this season. Basically what I am hoping for is the same type of minutes Vander got this year but with more offensive production. With Juan looking like he can handle the ball maybe a point forward is possible for some minutes. Could throw out a lineup next year at times during the game of

Anderson
DJO
Jamil
Crowder
O'Tule

That is some extreme length and athleticism on the court there. Cant wait until next year

Pretty old video. I believe he was a Junior here, right?

Warrior_2002

Wow!  Pretty impressive (Junior/Senior or whatever).  Great court vision too.  But gotta see it at the next level.  You never know how the learning curve goes (i.e., Blue, Jones, E. Will).  You are right about that ball handling though.  But you also have to figure all 3 I listed will also play into that starting lineup.  Especially since E. Will started the last 6 or 7 games.

i really like Anderson's passing ability.  He truly is multi-skilled.  BTW, who is O'Tule?  Is he new Irish recruit?  ;)

Your right, saw it March 25 and forgot it is now 2011. Oops. Did just see on Twitter though that his senior mixtape will be coming out soon it sounds like.

Congratulations Juan for a tremendous senior year!  Can't wait to watch you play for Marquette.  You will lead Marquette to many wins and you will love playing for them.  Great school and great people!

As a Bay Area native, I am pleased to see him coming to MU.

Here are highlights from Castro Valley vs. Oakland in the NorCal semifinals this year. They beat Oakland but lost to De La Salle in the NorCal finals. De La Salle is playing Mater Dei in the CA state championship.

My best friend lives in San Jose, is a lifelong MU fan, and has a freshman son playing varsity HS BB. He has seen Juan in person, play 4 times this year.

He said "think Jimmy Butler, with even more athleticism". Juan's HS team is blessed with D1 palyers, and has played with maturity, and evidencing of good coaching, and heads up play. My buddy thinks he sees enough in Juan to justify some PT already next year, at MU--do you agree?
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

GGGG

As for playing time next year, the one question is, can he defend?  There are lots of bodies ahead of him at thw "switchable" 2-4 position.

mu2031

I like their uniforms. :) I think he will fit in nicely.

First thing I thought of as well.  Kind of nice that a HS in California wears MU style uni's.

will he be on campus for summer school? It'd be nice to get him in the weight room a little early just to start getting a little more bulk on him to handle the physicality of the Big East season.

Most Frosh are, unless they are not cleared by the Clearing House..  JC players who have to finish up school work to transfer, tend to be later.  I would expect Anderson to be here the first of July.

monkeyman34

The dunks, layups, blocks, passes, etc. all look like he's got a lot of athleticism, but what really stood out to me, was his shot looks really smooth, not "Ray Allen smooth" but pretty solid fundamentals and releases it high.  Only minor issue, he doesn't seem to get a lot of lift into his shot, but he's tall enough that probably won't matter.

You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

marquette99

Awesome?  Any confirmation that he has grown a few inches from 6-foot-6?

BCHoopster

You wonder how Buzz would want to leave with Juan coming to MU.  They really
have 2 nice players picking it up for Jimmy.  Jamil Jones better get his act together
as this kid really understands the game, forget the dunks, all these kids can do that
but his shot looks smooth and his passing is outstanding, O'tule better learn how to
catch better next year as he maybe the recipient on many of those passes.

ceh

JA is legit.  In my mind this is as big of signing for Buzz as Blue.  I have not idea how he got him out of Cali.  This kid is not some "diamond in the rough", unknown like Gardner.  JA is very highly regarded out west, and could probably have played anywhere in the Pack 10.  I'm very excited to seem him lace 'em up for MU next season.  Also, I heard he may be 1-2 inches taller now then what was reported earlier in the year.

Ellenson Guerrero

Got to say I'm more excited about Juan coming in than I was about Vander. Vander's senior season seemed to be a step back from his Junior one. Juan seems to have continued to dominate at his high school level and his confidence seems sky high coming in. I could see him and Vander having a season long battle for minutes behind DJO and Jamil.
