Synergy Stats basically says we have to push push push to win this game.  UNC's transition defense is ok, but considerably worse than their above average half court defense.

Buzz will have them ready...hope we can execute. Fun stuff

Agreed 100%. Hit them with some full-court, create lots of possessions, and don't let them get their half-court defense set. If we slow the game down, we lose, guaranteed. Gotta play them fast.

A friend of mine, who is a big UNC fan, said that they are a poor shooting team.  They are a good defensive team.  I think MU will look to push on offense and slow it down on D.  I am looking for MU to put a press on, not for turnovers, but to slow them down offensively.

Myth 3: Slow UNC Down to Beat Them

Quite simply, playing at a slower pace does not improve your chances for beating UNC. Instead, it makes it more likely that they will win. In games with 72 or fewer possessions, UNC went a stunning 12-1, including 7-0 in games with 68 or fewer possessions. Marquette, on the other hand, was 15-12 in games with 72 or fewer possessions. Why play a slow-down game when UNC barely ever loses those games and Marquette only wins a little over half the time? On the other hand, in games with 73 or more possessions, UNC is 16-6 while Marquette is 7-2.

The bulk of UNC's losses come in faster-paced games, while Marquette's odds of winning also improve when the game is played at pace. MU needs to be able to match UNC's pace to have a chance of winning.

If we slow it down, we will almost certainly lose.

That was an ugly FT.  Never seen that from him.  Outside of Fulce, he may be the best FT shooter.

Was hoping for a better start from DJO outside.  Getting the looks.  He needs to start dropping them.

UNC getting too many offensive boards, tip backs.  Don't know how to resolve that with UNC height.  Heck, at least their shots are not going in.  Both teams shooting like 30%.

DJO and Butler need to start hitting jumpers, soon.  Glad it is close so far.

Game plan must be to get the ball inside and get fouls on Zeller.  It works if Otule finishes and if the passes get there.  Right now, neither of those are happenning.

22% shooting and it finally caught up with them.  Now down 8, with UNC on 10-0 run.

Otule missed two jump hooks in a row and UNC scored on both.

Butler has only taken two shots.
