Found this in the Cracked Sidewalks listing of media coverage..LOVE IT.  Think about it for a minute...from his high school athletic director:

"I was the most impressed with him, with what he did in the offseason," Cooley said. " While others were at home playing video games, he was up here on the court, working. . . . I remember I got here one morning, about 7 a.m., and he was here already, waiting for me to let him in. I asked him, 'You need a basketball?' And he said no, he was going to work on some defensive stuff. How many guys do that?"

"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

That's awesome! I think it's really shown this season, too.  He's stepped up so much in all areas of his game.  I'm glad he's gonna be around for another year because I can't wait to see how good he is come November.

Isn't it just great??!  Probably a 16-17 year old kid at the time...and DJO says - I don't need a basketball..I'm here at 7am to work on some defensive slides, foot fire drills, etc.!  Love it.

I hope this wasn't already posted.  The Raleigh News and Observer had an article in this morning's paper about DJO (who played HS basketball here).

Different source, but looks like the same article (same author) - so merged (and bumped)

Not requesting a basketball?  We now know where the poor work habits of not shooting 1000 free throws/day on his own time started.
