Big Men
« on: March 16, 2007, 09:00:04 PM »
Watching the UW-Madison v. Texas A&M CC game today and TA&M CC's 7-footer who was a very solid player got me wondering...With teams like MU and many others desperate for a legitimate big men, how on earth does that kid end up at Texas A&M Corpus Christi? There always seems to be a small handful of these guys.

Seeing Nick Fazekis again today, continues to sting. He is truly the one that got away.

Did Crean recruit Carl Landry? How did he end up at Purdue?

Put any one of the above (all seniors) on MU this year and where would the team be right now? Obviously for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction so it is of course impossible to say, but...

Carl Landry.......not sure if MU was on him or not.

I wish MU went after Javelle McGee - frosh at Nevada this year.  6'11" frosh from Chicago with a decent ceiling.  Somehow TC got Blackledge instead.

The guy from Texas A&M CC was a big fat stiff for most of his college career.  Someone got him in shape this year.  He dropped about 60 pounds and is now a very effective player.

I also heard their coach the other day on Homers show.  Did you guys know he coached former Buck Alton Lister in Junior College.

Didn't want to come back to Wisconsin.  He had offers from all four D-1 schools in Wisconsin, none of them made it to his final group.  He ended up choosing Purdue over Creighton, Flordia and Oklahoma.
