I guess to defend Lurch... if they can sell t-shirts for this accomplishment, why not put up a banner.

I know this is a joke, but what to they really do with this?  I don't remember from '94.  Is a Sweet 16 somehow marked on the big Post-Season banner?

No. The big banner only says "NCAA" or "NIT." 1977 is the same as 2010 on that banner. I believe there are Sweet 16 and Elite 8 Banners with all the years listed on them at the Al.
