i didn't pay attention to the original email from MU regarding tickets for the tourney. Do they get additional tix for Friday for alumn?

I'm heading down!!!! How sweet it is!!

Hey, I am living in Providence and am wondering if there are alumni tickets that will be available for the game in Newark. I think we should be able to get them through the alumni association. If anyone has some experience, please let me know.

mattotz513

gwaki, thanks so much. cant wait to represent marquette in the sweet 16

Gwaki

$198 per seat and you get tickets to both Friday and Sunday's game no matter what the outcome on friday

Marquette just sent a new e-mail...

NEWARK TICKET INFORMATION
East Regional Semifinal & Final (Friday/Sunday)

FAQ

Marquette has advanced to play North Carolina in the East Regional semifinal round of the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship in Newark, N.J.

How do I get tickets? Season ticket holders and select donors were allowed to pre-order tickets for all possible NCAA sites. Currently, tickets are only available to season ticket holders, Marquette students & alumni, Blue and Gold Fund donors or Marquette University donors of $500 and more. Priority will be based on annual giving. To add your name to the waiting list, call (414) 288-4668 starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 21. Please submit your request by Tuesday, March 22 at Noon CT and you will be notified via email by Tuesday at 5 p.m. CT if we can process and fulfill your order.

I already have tickets. Now what do I do? If you requested tickets through the presale, your credit card will be charged $198 per ticket. Only the individual whose name is on the account, or the spouse, can pick up the tickets at the site. You must have a valid photo ID when picking up the tickets. You will receive tickets to ALL SESSIONS, both Friday and Sunday, regardless of whether Marquette wins on Friday or not.

I want to change the name at will call on my tickets. There are no refunds, exchanges or substitutions on any NCAA tournament tickets.
Where do I pick up my tickets? At the Marquette will call location (TBD). You must have a valid photo ID when picking up the tickets. You will receive an email to confirm location of will call by Wednesday.
If you have further questions, please contact the ticket office at 414-288-4668.

Anyone else? Im leaving from mke and I would like to know when people are leaving to and from Newark?  Does anyone know what hotel the teams staying at or the marquette fans?  And where are you going to get your tickets from?

MUBalla23

I remember pre ordering tickets to the ncaa tourny last year in milwaukee and they were just horrible seats.  It seemed like i could get better seats trhough scalpers.  Does anyone know if that the same way by ordering through marquette?

Typically the MU seats are bad for away games. Is that going to be the same for this weekend? Nose bleeders?

Hey everyone... I'm a Syracuse fan, so show me a little sympathy :(.  I should be used to tournament upsets against teams that just play harder and smarter by now, but what are you gonna do? Hopefully you guys represent the Big East well and kick some UNC ass.

Anyway, I live in NYC and bought four tickets because I'm an overconfident idiot.  If any of you are still looking and would like to bail me out, please let me know. They're table seats behind section 119, and each table is just for four people so it's perfect if you have a group/family making the trip. I can sell either the strip (Fri & Sun) or Friday only and try to sell Sunday separately...  PM me for more info if you're interested.

I'm also happy to answer any general NYC area questions if any of you are making the trip here for the first time.  Good luck this weekend!

That is mostly true.  For regular season games, the opponent arenas will put the opposing fans in nosebleed hell (I was at the G'town game---very last possible row).  Not so true for NCAA games.  Sat in pretty decent seats for the games in Indy and the Twin Cities during the 2003 run.  Neutral site, no need to hide the opposing fans, so I would expect the seats through MU to be halfway decent

The NCAA allots the same quantity and quality of seats to each school at the tournament sites (it is not considered a road game).  The schools will then try to buy up more, if available, knowing what the fan base demand may be.  They are stuck with extras if the number of buyers are short.  In the Dome stadiums there are usually many extras, though not the quality of the allotted tix.  Since the Prudential only holds around 19K, they may not have access to as many extra blocks.  The quality of the seat that you receive from the university is dependent on your point rank.
