I think its safe to say Pearl is on his way out. But what do you think the fallout is going to be? Do you think this is a Kelvin Sampson type situation where its a 5+ year rebuilding for the program?

Man, not to beat a dead horse but I can't imagine what the Maymons are feeling right now, with the situation that program is in.

if Pearl is fired, any incoming recruits there we were on?

The Maymons, with all due respect to Vander, made their bed and slept in it for about a year.

Maybe now, with Pearl gone, he'll get more playing time.

if they bring in "cell phone" sampson they askin for the death penalty.  might as well turn it in to the penetentiary playas.

if i were the maymons, i'd stay away from any casino, scratch off games or lottos

The OP was not advocating for Sampson but comparing the remains of both Tenn after Pearl to IU after Sampson.

It's going to be substantial, since it's not just Pearl the NCAA is going to be looking at in the Tenneseee case.  It's the ENTIRE athletic department, and unlike Indiana, they're not going to get off easy.

Looking at their roster, they lose 6 seniors, including Brian Williams and Melvin Goins.  Hopson, Tatum, and Renaldo Woolridge are juniors, so the new coach will likely have them to work with.  Tobias Harris may make the jump to the NBA with Pearl gonee. Pearl had a nice class last year (Trae Golden, whom MU looked at, immediately comes to mind.

Although they do have significant fan support down there, by no means is it Indiana-like, and they don't have a natural recruiting base to fall back on like Indiana does.  If Arkansas hires the right coach (hopefully not named Buzz Williams), they could fill Tennessee's spot in the SEC hierarchy pretty quickly if Tennessee falls back for a few years.  Same with Alabama.
The General has taken on a new command.
