Seriously, these guys are absolutely awful. I love them on the NBA because they are amusing. College basketball demands a little bit more critical thinking and analysis because of the different style of play from team to team. These guys are just so lost it's almost embarrassing. They're like guys trying to lie through job interviews. They have zero idea what they're talking about.

brewcity77

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. Woeful analysis, they have no business on the desk.

Dish

Agreed, it's been brutal. I hate when Gumble throws a question their direction, and they both look at each other to see who's going to answer first, and then give a generic or vague opinion.

If you're going to bring those guys on, bring them on for the Sweet Sixteen and beyond (in a limited roll still), where at least they don't have to pretend to break down 68 teams, 90% of which they know zero about.

Doris Burkes Thong

These guys may watch a few college games during the course of the season, however, like has been mentioned above they have no business being on the desk talking about it. They don't study or analyze any games or teams during the year and then all of sudden they're asked to start doing it on t.v. to a national audience. They'are fish out of water when talkiign about the college game. Stick to the NBA boys.

Jumping Jesuit

I had to chuckle when Smith said that Marquette's season was all about tough D, as if the defense they played against Xavier was indicative of what MU has done all year.

MerrittsMustache

It's much easier to follow the NBA because there are only 30 teams, not all of them play every night and, in all honesty, they only need to pay close attention to 6-8 of them. 64 teams playing 32 games in 2 days is tough to walk into when that's not your specialty. I fault the execs who put them on the show more than I fault Barkley and Smith for not being up to speed on every team.

Completely agree on this one.  I'm sure they thought "hey, Barkley's funny, everybody loves Barkley!" without thinking about the implications of how little he knows about CBB.  I was slightly optimistic to see his shenanigans, but his cluelessness just destroys any entertainment value he might have had.

Niv Berkowitz

I'm a huge Chuck fan, but for college hoops, he's really out of his element. He was saying during pre-KY/WVU game that the Big East has no talent, but tons of heart and toughness. Pitino looked at him like his buddy did while he was on the floor at that restaurant. It was unreal.

Fullodds

Barkley is brutal. 5 guys at a table is rough. Need to keep it simple with a current college coach (Pitino/Izzo are pretty good) and dump the rest. I just don't see what Barkley brings--too many generalizations, not informed, contrarian without reason. If I want that 'analysis' I'll sit at the bar and talk to anyone watching the game.

Stretchdeltsig

Terrible announcers - poor commentary.  Thought the announcers on the ESPN games were mostly bad... especially the woman... often they talk about everything but what's going on in the game.

muwarrior69

CBS/Turner should have brought in Doris Burke. She would have done a much better analysis of each game.

silverback

Neither guy wants to be there. I get the feeling Barkley doesn't even pants on under the desk.

WellsstreetWanderer

I'd rather see carrie underwood than either of those two. she probably knows more about CBB and looks better. Charles looks like he is wearing a tent

Kenny also told one of our posters ( on the same flight) that basketball was a guard's game.

Put her at the table with ChicosBailBonds!
