My fellow class of 1979 MU-ers in Chicagoland would like to know where you will be watching the MU vs. Syracuse game on Sunday, Mar. 20?

In Chicago: where?
In suburbs: where?

See you there!

Four Shadows on Ashland and Diversey.  I'm not a huge fan of the Schoolyard.

Thanks for tips.

Watched the game at Cortland Garage last night. It was pretty good experience, but would like to try another place.

Coleman

Might end up at the Schoolyard, but if not I usually watch at the Sports Corner on Sheffield and Addison across from Wrigley Field.

TONS of TVs, good beer selection and decent food.

MU had pretty good representation there last night, with 10-12 people.

Fullodds

Benchmark in Old Town has a great setup, good food and crowd.  Not speficially an MU bar so get there early, grab a table and bring your crowd. Owned by same group that owns Schoolyard.

Finley dunnes.  Lincoln just south of Addison. Nice MU banner hanging

A lot of us that didn't want to wait in line at schoolyard went down the street to Justins.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I've heard Will's Northwoods on Racine is good for MU games.  Never been there but have friends who go occasionally.

Will's was jammed full of Marquette fans, they played the audio in the bar and had 32oz MU cups for $5......

Is there a Cuse bar in Chicago?  I haven't heard of one.  But I woudl be up for infiltrating and taking my chances.  With a loss, I just get some heat.  With the win... I own the bar.

Coleman

Seems pretty weak though. They are the bar for 10 universities

Just a heads up for anyone who may not have realized- there is a Blackhawks game at 7 and a U of I game at 8... That said, if you want the audio it may be tough, if not impossible, to get it at most places for the entire game.

Schoolyard is both an MU bar and Illinois bar, last I was there, so there will be many fans of both teams. Not exactly sure how they will handle that situation, but I would guess the front section will be one game and the back the other. I think it might be impossible to get audio at non MU bars- I decided I will watch it with a buddy at his place so we don't risk being pissed off at a bar

Any suggestions where I can bring my 16-year old yet enjoy a cold adult beverage for myself? (She's driving.)

Schoolyard is a Marquette bar first and  foremost. MU takes precedence over U if I at Schoolyard.

Just curious...what was the atmosphere like at Will's, for any of those who went? Were there a lot of MU people, or was it mostly UW?

Decent MU turnout but they were more concerned with their chili contest.....won't be going back again.  Much better off at Scoolyard or Four Corners.

TallTitan34

How was Four Corners on Friday and Sunday?  I'm looking for a place to go for the UNC game.

T-Bone

For last Friday it was packed an hour before game time.  Couldn't even get a table.
It won't be the zoo the Schoolyard is, but it is a good place to watch the game.  Plenty of TVs, good typical bar food, OK selection of beer.

The problem with Schoolyard last week was the Illinois game was immediately after ours....they're also an Illini bar.  It'll still be jammed this Friday but with all MU fans, will be a great atmosphere.

Did anyone go to Peggy's in Arlington Heights?

For the UCONN game in the BEast season there were a few different groups, but nothing great...

MUFC9295

Cortland Garage was more than hospitable and it flys an MU flag (albeit inside).  No deals to speak of, but hopefully that will keep it comfortable for smaller contingents.  The Foolyard has almost always been a solid pick, but lining up to have an elbow in my back for 2 hours just ain't my glass o beer these days.
