Chicos you and I are on the same page when it comes to a team's chances of advancing in the Tournament - it's all about who you draw.  That being said, I kinda like our draw this year.  IMO, it's much better this year - even better than recent years where we were seeded higher.

My prediction - we surprise some folks and advance to the Sweet Sixteen.  That's probably the end of the line, though, unless we play the game of our lives and go one step further.

One thing I like about the Tournament is that no one plays on their home floor.  Sure, some teams are closer than others and will have more fans at the game, but every team has to deal with playing on a floor other than their own.  Not only that, but each building has it's own sight lines which can throw some teams off.

So what do you think?  Now that we know our draw, how do you think we will do this year?

I wonder if the mod's could invent some kind of system, where I could personally message another user.

reinko, feel free to chime in with your thoughts if you have any on the topic of how MU will fare this Tournament.

Or not.

Well, now I am going to make this about Skat and myself.  Sup Skat?  How you doing bro?  I like when Chris Otule blocks the basketball, and performs dunk shots.  What say you?

Chicos, do you love lamp?  I love lamp.

Personally, I think if we beat Xavier we're doomed in round 2. I don't see us beating Syracuse again.

The Sycamores are going to beat Cuse.  ;D

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Would love to see Indiana St pull off the upset.

Yeah, then we get into the Sweet 16 "The Badger Way".

Just a gratuitous slap at Badgermaniac.   Sorry, it had to be done.

That's not "The Badger Way".  >:(

We actually have to beat a single-digit seed in Xavier if we want to get to the Sweet 16...and sometimes they can't even manage to do it then ;)

I also like when Chris Otule blocks the basketball.  The dunk shots are nice as well.  I think that they compare to when Erik Williams shoots his basketball shots from close to where it says Marquette on the floor really big by the cheerleaders and the old rich people by the lines.

Do you like those basketball shots too?  Or just the dunk shots?

I think we're being overlooked against Xavier and like our chances as well but I agree with the PuertoRican nightmare. Beeting Cuse twice in one year is tough. The money is going on Xavier. We were getting 1.5 and now we're getting 2.

I hate that we play Xavier in Cleveland, but feel pretty good about this game as the A-10 didn't seem to be quite as good to me this year.  I certainly respect them and expect a pro XU crowd, but MU by 5 points.  I don't think we beat Syracuse.  That's how my brackets are going to look

The problem I have with picking us is that, except for the Final Four run, since 1996 we lose to the first team we see that is even closely seeded to us.  Excluding the FF year, our only wins were once as a 4 (and even then we lost to a 12 in round 2), once as a 5 and once as a 6.

There is nothing in our non-D.Wade recent tournament history that says we win this game.  We seem to always find a way to lose in the tournament when push comes to shove.  Xavier, on the other hand, wins the games they are supposed to win and then some.  Here's hoping this is the year that breaks the string.

I agree with CTWarrior, all I can think about is our recent history in the tourney...Alabama, Stanford, Washington (I won't include Mich St because that was a horrific first half performance).

I don't see how this is anything but a one/two possession game though. MU's performance this year, and recent tourney performances make me believe this one is coming down to a final possession.

Yea, but maybe we're due to have a bounce or two go our way finally?  I don't care how close it is as long as we win.

I'd say it bounced our way against Utah State.  Very fortunate to win that game.

Ugh, I'd forgotten how awful that game was.  That was years ago though, I've moved on and am looking for more good fortune.  Someone please notify the universe.

You're right.  I was thinking they beat a single seed in their 1st game, but NOT.

Yeah, can you believe it - we almost didn't beat Stu "The Legend" Morrill....

Does anyone know who has more set plays in the playbook, Stew Morrill or Tom Crean? I need the answer for a take home test I'm doing for a coaching strategy class right now.

Don't forget Missouri and Lazar's step over the baseline...
