My favorite comment:

"Cardougen was wonderful - he'll be a handfull. They passed well and spaced themselves well."
"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Albert Einstein

WV looked passed us too, I guess we'll let LVille do the same. And those guys are right, we want revenge. Hopefully were not as tired as GTown last year.

That's the advantage to being a much deeper team this year.  We may very well lose, but it won't be from a lack of energy tomorrow night.

i dont think WVU 'looked past us' as MU beat them this year. i dont think louisville thinks the comeback win means they are going to be gaurenteed a victory either. these teams try very hard, and it makes it all that much sweeter that MU still wins.

That is especially important for us in a format like the Big East Tournament where we'll be playing our third game in three nights.

Junior clearly was the player of the game, but Gardner was huge off the bench in his 16 minutes. If my memory is correct, twice he got a big bucket and a foul for three points on the possession right after WV drained a three point shot. That can be important from squashing a potential run.

We're not really any deeper--the difference is we've been lucky enough to avoid injuries.

We actually started the year with one less player this year because we had a scholarship locked up with Wilson who could not play due to transfer rules.

The difference is that we didn't have any major injuries as we did last year with Cadougan and Otule.

NavinRJohnson

I think we need to hope there are lingering effects of that pathetic loss UL suffered on Saturday. I will be somewhat surprised if fatigue does not become a pretty big factor for MU.

TheGym

Only Butler played more than 30 mins last night, hopefully that will allow us to keep the fatigue factor to a minimum.

Hence, we're deeper.  What's your point?

I know calling you out on something will elicit a 2 page dissertation, but last years team had 7 maybe 8 players we could count on to contribute. This year there are 9 maybe 10. That is deeper in terms of quality not quanity. But of course anything that you argue will be looked at through the "crean is better" prism

There was a thread (leading to WV board) yesterday stating they thought they had the solid route to a championship.

Agreed.  Wasn't it just two years ago that our friends from the mountains told us that Huggy has a long memory and will kick our respective @$$es because of the late 3 we made against them at the BC?  That Huggy will exact his revenge starting with the conference opener at WVU last year?

I can't imagine Huggy or their players ever forgetting if that's what they told us.

Without reading the full post, I thought that sentence was about me  :-[

I'm so long-winded sometimes (most of the time).

So true. Depth is defined by the number of players that can be counted on to contribute. If a player cannot contribute due to injury, tranfer, suspension, expulsion, etc., he is NOT ON THE DEPTH CHART and can't be counted. Just another poorly reasoned post by 84 - hopefully we'll be spared the requisite dissertation that usually occurs in an attempt to salvage the unsalvagable.

Well then that make you a little deeper doesn't it.

The consensus on the Louisville board is that MU will start to show fatigue at the 10 minute mark of the second half.  Personally, I'll be confident until around the 5:44 mark.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

pathetic? you mean the 2 point loss on the road to the same team which we had to overcome a 10 point loss to beat?

I think he was referring to the ending as pathetic.

It seems like we care more about Louisville fan comments than any other opposing team on this board.

Have you guys ever been to Louisville? They're still using Altavista down there.
