10 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile Buycks was scoreless and had 5 turnovers. There should be no doubt who the PG is on this team. Hands down--Cadougan.

Also, fine game by Otule, Crowder, DJO and JFB.

Keep going Warriors.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Right on cue Willie.  Great game by Cadougan but as I stated in another post Providence can't play transition defense.  That sets up perfectly for Cadougan.  When we play teams that don't give up transition baskets Buycks becomes more important.

Haven't seen your "Buzz has a man crush on Otule" comments lately, btw.

With the way Junior and Outle are playing, plus Jamil Wilson and returning DJO and Crowder make me feel REALLY good about next year!

Bertface

Junior commands the court I am really glad he is the stud o the game because I feel he can be a great point guard in this league.  He is big and quick, has great vision and has a soft finish around the hoop. Plus dude knocks down his free throws.

SacWarrior

Buycks' skill at shooting the ball on the run and making the swift plays on the defensive and offensive ends has grown on me over the past season, but it's clear he can't distribute the ball well and he obviously can't run an offensive play. Cadougan does distribute it well, and now he's starting to get his own shot down, even in the clutch with that 3 against the CONNvicts.

If Cadougan can develop into a full-time PG, we're talking about a great run this season, as well as the next few seasons.

RyanConroy

It's time for Junior to get 30-35 minutes every game.

ChicosBailBonds

JC looked very well today.  If he can play at a consistent level next year, we will be in good shape.

romey

the play driving down the right side of the lane where he kind of "hooked the ball" the ball over his head to Davante on the left side for the driving layup was sweet.
And what was the deal where the announcers were droning on and on about - maybe the player of the year vs. MVP debate - where we broke a quasi press and Vander dribbled across half court, there was a whistle, and the ball was given back to Providence.  the announcers continued there diatribe and never mentioned, or even seemed to notice the play.  Anyone know what happened?

Doris Burkes Thong

I was very impressed with Junior and I really commend him for working himself back after such a nasty iunjury, but I won't be 100% believer until he puts up a few of these performances against the upper echelon teams in the BE or does it in the Big Dance. I think though we are about to see him take that step because I think for the first time sicne his injury he's actually back to 100%. You could tell earlier in the year he just lacked the confidence and didn't have that bounce in his step.

You haven't seen it because I didn't say it. I have said on a number of occasions that he had a man crush on Buycks. Get the facts straight.

That was called a palm on Vander.

romey

thanks ryan - couldn't see it with the intermittent stream on ESPN3 and as I said, announcers never explained it.

RyanConroy

Gotcha, it's frustrating when you can't see a play and the announcers ignore it. Honestly, I wasn't sure of the call, but he was in traffic so it was tough to tell. Probably an unnecessary whistle given the situation.

C'mon Willie.  You have said on a number of occasions that Otule was a "miss".  I was referencing your questioning of Buzz of playing Otule over Gardner.

Four more rebounds and Jr. would have pulled off a Gasser.

BTW, Junior should have had another assist but JJ got too excited and fumbled an easy lay-up out of bounds.  I snickered.

DaCoach

PG has the longest learning curve, particularly in a conference like the BE. JC has had effectively one year of experience. Today's game showed what he is capable of doing for this team. He'll have some highs and lows but he clearly is a quality leader in the making. We'll be much better next year as he and Otule have broken through the ceiling they have endured with the team. Next year we should be in the top 4 in conference favs.

If we can improve the defense, we can be dominant in 2012.

Yeah, nothing like a traditional triple double on your resume.

Junior had a lot of good passes that did not result in an assist either because of a fumble, foul, or missed shot.  Easily could have had 12-15 "official" assists today.

JJ also missed his (wide open) 3pt attempt on a great assist from jr

I don't know much about any of the other upper BEast teams' returning players, or even their recruiting classes, but I feel that is a hell of a statement

Pretty sure the pass to JJ was deflected by Prov so it pretty much was at JJ's knees when it got to him. Nearly impossible to handle.

From where I was sitting (my couch) the pass looked perfect.
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Judging by JJ's reaction after the play, I thnk he'd be the first to admit he should have caught and finished it.
