I know I'm getting way ahead of myself but who does everyone see starting next year?  Crowder, DJO, and Otule I think are the obvious choices and I would have to think Cadougan would get the nod at point.  Does Frozena have another year of eligibility?

BCHoopster

otule             Gardner
wilson            Anderson
crowder         EW
Cadougan       Wilson
DJo                blue

                    Jones

If MU brings in a JC point, then Junior will have to fight
for the spot, otherwise pretty set

Niv Berkowitz

Otule (JR) - 5
Wilson (JR) - 4
Crowder (SR) - 3
DJO (SR) - 2
Junior (JR) - 1

Yup. Transferred after Freshman year so will be elibigle for his Sophomore year after a red shirt year. I think he will be  a very good player for us.

There is no chance that Cadougan or (freshman) Wilson aren't in the starting lineup.  Neither DJO nor Blue can play the point, and if they are we're in trouble.

(Transfer) Wilson will be a sophomore next year and is a wing.  Crowder will be the 4, Wilson the 3 and will even see some time at the 2.

jsglow

Otule 5
Crowder 4
Wilson 3
DJO 2
JC 1

And isn't it nice to have a solid 4-5 guys off the bench who can play.  Be very interesting to see who develops quickly as a back up PG.  Might be a yet unnamed JUCO that gets minutes there.

Galway03

From what I hear Singleton may be the best PG on the team now.

With the loss of Butler and Buycks, they have a combined 26 points a game.
Junior averages 3ppg, so lets double that to around 6ppg for next year.
That leaves a 20 point differential.  Hope the others can make up the difference on the offensive side.

Blackhat

Dwight Buycks is our best shooter.   Definitely most consistent long range shooter.

We better find another cat who can shoot or else get ready for more zones.

Jr. will not fight for PG position--he will be a 30 minute man next year. He has all the skills to run the point and deliver the ball to the scorers. He will have a full year this year. Unless there is a stud out there at Point that we can land--which I doubt, he will be the man.

On another note, I suspect Ox will really work in off season to improve his conditioning--if he does, he will definitely challenge Otule---which is a good thing. I sure as hell hope he does not spend the off season chowing down on pizzas and mashed potatoes. But I will! I do prefer french fries better than mashed potatoes though--they get to your arteries quicker.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Statistically, there is no denying Buycks 3PT% is better than anyone else on team (41%) but personally, I think DJO is a better pure shooter. His percentages are down this year simply because teams are keying more on him.

Blackhat

DJO has got a pure stroke, all lefties look good shooting the ball, like myself.

Definitely disagree DJO's three shooting is down because of some concerted effort by the opponent.   He has missed a ton of open three's this year, he's been taking good shots.  Reality is most likely last year was an aberration for his shooting over a period.   Shooting 50% on threes wasn't going to last anyway.

But no doubt in my mind, 80% of the time I want DB shooting that game winning three for us, unless DJO is hot.

Hard to rely on DJO.  The good shooting DJO is more a luxury this year then a "guarantee".

Agree entirely on your first thought.

I hope you are right on your second...I think you are.  Although if Otule continues to develop I'm not sure Gardner will catch him next year.

It's a beautiful thing that we actually have multiple options in the post.

Should have a nice versatile roto next year.  I really think Juan Anderson might surprise, he has a WVU's "Kevin Jones" type game/upside.

Interesting that you show EWill as the last scholly player.  I actually think he'll be in the 'Fulce' role next year although I have nothing to back that up.  Thinking 7-10 minutes a game.  One thing I do know, assuming he decides to stay at MU, is that coach will give him every opportunity during non-conference.

And don't forget, we've still got 2 scholly slots next year.  I'm banking on one going to a JUCO who will see meaningful minutes.

🏀

2011-2012 will be a turbulent starting 5, just like this year. Instead, I'll give you who will play the most minutes.

Given the number of guys that have the talent to play - I like that approach - and most agree with your numbers on a +/-5 min scale :)

I do not think they add up properly, but let's not worry over semantics. ;D

I wasn't even going there, but yeah, if you add up all your low end numbers you get 203 min - nonetheless, pretty close.

Bringing DJO off of the bench?    According to some, bringing him off of the bench a couple of times this year nearly ruined him.   I agree with the consensus starting 5.   I would like to see Blue work on his handle in the offseason so that he can be the back-up PG as well as SG.

Otule/Gardner will split 30-35 minutes a game at the 5. Crowder probably eating up the rest there.
Crowder/Ewill/Anderson will probably play the 40 at the 4
Wilson/Vander/Anderson/Jones will probably play the 40 here at the 3
Jones/Vander/Wilson/DJO
Cadougan/D Wilson/Vander will play the minutes here

If Vander doesn't start he will most likely play starters minutes backing up 1-3.
If Wilson doesn't start je will play starters minutes 2-4 back up

DJO
Wilson or Vander
Cadougan
Crowder
O'tule
