Movement since last Sunday:

Syracuse +2
West Virginia +1
UConn -2
Villanova -1  (if Fisher doesn't hit a 3 to send the DePaul game to OT, they would have dropped 4 spots in a week and would be #10 right now, a spot ahead of MU. And they are ranked. And everybody pretty much agrees Jay Wright is a terrific coach. Maybe that puts things in the proper perspective...)

Gotta love that 10 spot if we can get there.  Of course by then everything could look different

having never been this squarely on the bubble this late in the year in recent memory, the BEast tourney's move to include all 16 teams is genius.  You get your bubble teams an extra assured win (presumably) and bolster their chances to get in even if they lose their first game to a higher seeded team. In the past that first game against a higher seeded team would have been their first in the tourney.  Now you give them an extra high major win, and if they win their second as well, they're probably in the dance.

A win against Providence in the first round doesn't bolster our changes.

Do postseason games get figured into RPI, etc?  Not trying to be a dick, I just honestly have no idea.

Seeing this really undercores how important it will be to go 10-8 in the Big East this year (as opposed to 9-9).  We will have to make a good showing in the BET if we only go 9-9 and teams on our side of the bracket are Cuse and G'Town.  Just not an easy game after the first one.
