We wore the gold's last night - was it because of Father Wild night, or because we really needed to win the game?

I like the idea of wearing the golds the rest of the season, since nearly every game (except UConn, maybe) is a must win. Hopefully it will create a mentality that will help us get into and make a run in the Tourney... the same way the Packers had must win games at the end of the season and carried that into the playoffs (even though their run had nothing to do with uniforms).

Rumor has it that Marquette is changing the uniforms after this year.  Bummer if true.

Anyone know what the design would be? Would it be a logo change? Kinda like them the way they are.

It's not like its a big rumor, Cottingham said as much last summer during an online chat the Athletic Dept. had. Someone asked when the new Jordan unis were being unveiled for this (the 2010-11) season and he said not til next year. I have no connections and i could have told you that.

Correct, it was in a chat. However, Cottingham said the uniforms would look the same next year....now, at the time of the chat did that mean this year or next year?  The chat was in June of 2010.

Then some stated a Broeker text said they were looking at the new samples of jerseys for next year.  Or something to that effect.

I guess the question would be whether they change drastically or slightly, or if at all.

I'm really not a fan of the change either. Buzz does have some quality taste and class but I just hope this isn't a drastic change. The cookie cutter backs like st. Johns, Uconn, Duke, etc. Is not what I'd like to see. I gues all well have to do is wait.

As for wearing gold for the last two games, whatever gets the guys more hyped. Hopefully they'll see these game are important, as they do.

I do love our unis as they are just because they are so distinctive. Hopefully we can keep the piping in the upcoming years. I too am not a fan of the cookie cutter Jordan unis. We shall see.

I was under the impression they were changing because of the Jordan switch. I also remember (i may be wrong) a tweet from someone saying that they just saw some uniform proposals and don't worry MU fans you won't be disappointed with boring regular uniforms. Hoping for the best!

Fair point.  I've amended the other post.  It should say Marquette may change the uniforms.

Yeah by no means is this Buzz changing the uniforms Chicos.  It is the switch to Jordan Brand.

I'm guessing Buzz couldn't care less what they wear.

Our uniforms are weak. Too much going on and the lettering looks really stupid like a fifth graders bubble letters.  I hope we go the old school route like the uniforms Louisville or Natti have been wearing. I think that is the new transition in uniforms, simple.

Personally all the crazy uni's we have had in the past are cool in fact sweet yes but there is an obvious transition in NCAA basketball uniforms and I think Jordan brand is going to keep it that way giving us something close to those mid 90's jerseys but I don't understand why you all are reading my initial response as saying our old school uniforms are simple. Because I don't believe that in any way. I just believe we should stay away from that bumble bee route.

Our hard play should separate us from everyone else not our uniforms.  And what is wrong with classy?

The red ones Cincy wore this weekend were absolutely awesome.  Couldn't find a picture, but they were nice.
