DePaul wins at Providence. I know Keno was a favorite with some here - glad we dodged that bullet.

I would love to see DP be competitive. I think it could actually help our Chi. recruiting.

We are no longer the answer to a trivia question ("who did DePaul last beat?)

Keno and Buzz can share stories as the only two coaches to lose to DePaul in the regular season in 3 years.

DePaul plays USF at home on Sat Feb 26 and Rutgers at home on Wed Mar 2.

Will Stan Heath and Mike Rice join the conversation?

It appears that maybe—just maybe—DePaul is in a little over its head in the brutal Big East.
DePaul's men's basketball team is in the midst of an epic stretch of futility in conference play. The Blue Demons have lost 48 of their last 50 regular-season Big East games, including all 12 so far this season. This marks easily the worst 50-game performance in a major conference in the past 15 years. The streak doesn't include DePaul's upset of Cincinnati in the 2009 Big East tournament, one of the few bright moments for the once-powerful Chicago program in recent years.
The Blue Demons actually won 18 of their first 38 regular-season Big East games after joining the league from Conference USA for the 2005-06 season, but they've been overwhelmed since. During this 2-48 run, the average margin of defeat has been 13.4 points. Thirty of the losses have been by double digits, 12 by at least 20. The worst was a 99-54 loss to Louisville in February 2009, in which the Cardinals scored the first 13 points.
Over the past 15 years, the next-worst 50-game performances were by Rutgers, Oregon State, Penn State and Washington State, but they all went a comparatively robust 6-44.
But there's hope for DePaul. The Blue Demons play at 3-9 Providence Thursday and have a home game against 2-11 South Florida on Feb. 26. And in the 2012-13 season, Texas Christian—currently 1-10 in the Mountain West—joins the conference.

I don't think so.

USF is the better bet for a loss but with their bigs rebounding the way they do, DePaul may only get one shot every minute of play.

As for Rutgers, Rice has them playing harder than any DePaul team of the last three seasons. That alone should do it, not to mention RU has more talent than DPU.

Be interesting to watch DPU in the off-season. Lot of talk that this was a tryout year for half the team to see who would be back next season and who would be asked to leave.
