First Half Thoughts

Anemic offense, 38% from field, 20% from three. Do we ever score after a turnover?

Buycks is very careless with ball as is DJO. 

Blue is scared to shoot.  Can't have him and Junior on court at same time.  No offense.

Come on Buzz, do something on defense with Hardy, without him St. Johns is nothing.

Butler and Crowder keeping MU in game.

Lets do this now.

Hopefully we get hot in the second half at home like most teams do to us. We are tied and we havnt shot worth a damn at all and basically everyone is playing bad aside from Jimmy and Jae.

Think both teams are playing very well, very hard.  This is gonna be a dogfight the rest of the way.  Need to do better than 2-10 from the 3 point line.  Will we get to the foul line as much in the 2nd half?  Bigger question - will we miss some critical free throws down the stretch?

Ball movement has been excellent and we are getting to the rim with relative ease.

Cut down on the TOs and shoot a little better and we should be in good shape.

first half positives:

Butler....best all around game (so far) in awhile.
Crowder...continues to be a man among boys.
Otule...like his presence in the middle on defense and is starting to rebound with more authority.
Fairly decent against the zone.
Buzz rockin' the canary coat


first half neutrals:

DJO...meh...some good shots and some good playmaking countered by some bad turnovers
Crowd....seems sort of so-so in terms of the decibel level.  Not bad, but not a huge positive for a homecourt advantage.


First half negatives:

Buycks...oy....worst game for him (so far) in a while
transition defense looks wretched
the Bench has been nonexistant in contributing
Gene Keady's hair....what must that man look like in the morning?

2nd half....correct those negatives and keep good ball movement and MU should prevail.

What is happening to MU on offense right now is they're passing up better shots for worse ones.

The press is really hurting our offense, maybe we need to use it ourselves. Buycks seems to be pressing too hard in offense. I think the matchup with Hardy might be in his head. Close game, I expect us to win, though. Seems after a good first half, we let teams back in, and after a flat first half, we come out on fire. The second is ours.

Probably.  I'll just watch...can't blame people if they do.  This really puts MU in a huge hole.  I know we had a poll the other that asked how important this game was, I gave it a 10...a number of others didn't.  We'll see. 

I think the "easily in" at 9-9 is going to be tested considerably.
