Watching this guy dominate Illinois, throwing down dunks and grabbing rebound after rebound (16 now), just how good would MU be if he was their starting center?

Top 20 team?

Top 10 team?

MU B2002

The only team that could beat us is a team with Chuck Norris at PG and Ditka coaching & playing the 2-5.

Nope. You're a fuckin moron for suggesting this. Fact of the matter is mbawke was a giant unnatural carnal knowledge up at Marquette and needed to go.

I mean, don't get me wrong. He got his crap together -kinda- and has become a good player at UofM but I can't imagine that he'd be able to do this if he was still here. Way to Many intangibles to consider. For all anyone knows, it was his change of scenery that did him good

77ncaachamps

If he couldn't get his head straight here, why would you think it would have eventually happened?

A change of scenery was what Trevor definitely needed...and he seems to benefit from it.
Good for him.
SS Marquette

Spaniel with a Short Tail

Can't we ban any more posts on Mbakwe or JMay?  :P

nyg

17 points, 16 rebounds tonight.

Top ten in double-doubles in the country.

Top 15 in rebounding in the country.

He continues at this pace through next year and he is a possible first round draft choice.

I would say MU would have a significant better record at the present time and been a very dangerous team.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda though.  Time to move it on.

PGsHeroes32

I hate all the denial from people about him. Just admit it, with him we would dominate. That said boy I feel bad he has to play with that loveable band of losers. They are nothing without Nolan.

I wish there was a healing potion and in season college bball trades. Nolan and Mbakwe joining our big 3 would create a force. Such a shame.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

As long as we are asking about criminals ...

How good would MU be if we had Montrele Clark?

Has either been convicted of a crime?

I don't know if Clark was ever charged. On Mbakwe, thought I read he entered a program in exchange for a clean record.

We would be significantly better and atop the big east.

I think Clark was charged but nothing ever came of it... very sketchy story though.

It is a hypothetical question, relax. You seem to have a lot of anger about this. You are in denial if you think he would not make this team significantly better.

I don't know about record and places in the standings, but anything that limits Otule's and Gardner's time is a plus.

Would I love Mbakwe to be on our team (minust the baggage)?  YES
Is it worth the baggage that he brings?  NO
The biggest thing he could bring to our team is REBOUNDING!

yeah that's what we need, a rapist sitting next to our daughters in classes at MU.

GGGG

If Mbakwe were still around here, we probably don't have a need to recruit Crowder.  You cannot make this decision in a vacuum.

And for the dude who said something about limiting Otule's time, Chris has been a significant contributor this year.  Even if we had Crowder and Mbakwe, they would not likely be stealing time from Otule.

Clark is still available for next year!!! 18th ranked JUCO I believe!

Not necessarily. Crowder was, more or less, brought in to help fill Lazar's role. With Mbakwe on the roster, Zar likely would have been able to spend more time on the wing, or at the very least, less time at the 5. Crowder could be doing the same this season.

MU would have won the NCAA in 72 had Jim Chones not left for the ABA before season's end. I'm convinced of that yet it only led to extra frown lines on my otherwise youthful face.
Let's get stuff like this out of our system, it's wasted energy.

Here is a link to the sports illustrated article from Feb. 1972 when Chones left Marquette 21-0, second ranked in the country for the ABA nets and $1.5 million

How good we be if Crean hadn't finished second for JaJuan Johnson?    How much better would we be with Deshonte Riley, Sutton from Villanova, Tyshaun Taylor?   He made his choice.   It eventually, after several missteps, seems to have worked out for him.

There you go Aughnanure and others who think Mbawke would help.
Statistics aside, if he's here, we don't have someone else.
