St. John's is very tough at home as UConn just found out. Depending on which MU team shows up on Tuesday, it could be a Tourney deciding contest.

Well if it's similar in any way to the tourney deciding contest MU had last year at home v Louisville, we'll be in good shape.

DCWarriors04

It will be a tough game, but at least we get them at the BC. Feel a lot more comfortable playing them in Milwaukee than at the Garden.

Or in their bandbox, where I almost witness them stun us last year.  Still thanking JFB for that last shot....

babytownfrolics

Yes.  Sju is wildly inconsistent and not very good on the road.  At least we bring effort every game.

The key is to stop Hardy, that guy is like Seton Hall's Hazell.

Im thinking its going to have pretty much the exact same stakes as the Louisville game, that one was a week day game as well for what its worth. Hopefully we go in riding high after a Gtown upset.

Answered your own question.

Johnnies are very good in NYC. Outside of it? Not so much.

They've gotten plastered by conference opponents on their travels. No reason MU can't do that.

A few days ago, they lost to UCLA. How come this post wasn't made then?

The bigger story may be UConn. SJU gets credit for a big win, yet there sit the Huskies, currently ranked #10 in the country, with the same 6-5 record as MU, having played the 12th toughest BE schedule, vs. the 4th toughest for MU.

Might be time for people to start giving some notice and credit for the season MU is actually putting together.

UConn has won some big games out of conference (we have 0) and they've beaten us at home.  Doesn't matter what the conference record is they are a level above MU.

Didn't say they weren't. Just a comment on some folks' willingness to put the SJU game in the loss column because they beat UConn (who barely beay USF in OT, btw). UConn is considered to be better than MU, yet after 11 games, they have managed the same record as MU against BE competition. People see that SJU win as some great triumph, and we see a ton of hand wringing around here about MU's 6-5 record.

BTW, when you are in the BE, the conference record means everything.

True, but we were in each and every one of those games.  While we may not have proved we're a good team...we certainly haven't proved we're a bad team.

I don't think that many here expect a loss to SJU.  I don't.  While MU's remaining schedule is an "advantage" it means we now have to reel off a bunch of wins in a row and since MU plays everybody close the chance of something weird happening in one of those close games gets to be pretty likely.  Other than G-town and UConn away there is no more room for "close losses".
Getting into the Tourne takes more than proving you are not a bad team.

If MU can't/doesn't beat SJU at home, they don't deserve to be dancing anyway. Simple as that.

I hear what you're saying, but what if they beat UConn and/or Georgetown? Do they then deserve a top 4 seed? If Louisville can't beat Drexell at home, do they deserve to be dancing? Making broad judgements about any team based on any single game is just kind of silly.

Sure, I'll contact Johnny Jungle and see if they're up for it again.
