Most importantly, why am I heading out of here to temps in the single digits?

Anybody else tired of our "bigs" getting called for an offensive foul 25 feet fron the basket. Just plain stupid.  I hope all those VB fans watched his just god awful performance. He may have the physical gifts but his BBall IQ is as high as the MKE temp.  Just one stupid play after another.  Just very overrated as a defensive wizz, he was just lost on D. Floats to the lane for rebounds while his man is roaming free. It's time to acknowledge that he may never be better than is Jr. year in HS.
Really--JC and VB on the court w/ Chris O.  Who's going to score?
Anyone having a hard time believing the reason for JFB not starting considering the total minutes he played? We will never know the truth.

At the end of the day, it's a W so lets move on to GTown.

Wow.   Nothing less than expected.    Butler probably didn't start because he hadn't fully participated in practice since Saturday.   Buzz probably has some silly, 'no-practice,no-start' rule.  Tossing a freshman under the bus.   Even the great Al said the best thing about freshmen is they become sophomores.  VB's energy and aggressiveness were the sparks that started the comeback.   Yeah, he needs to work on his shooting form this summer.    Cadougan/Blue/Otule/Fulce/Butler on the floor at the same time.   OK, that one has merit.    Start Cadougan and bring Buycks off of the bench so DB and VB play at the same time.   Bigs committing offensive fouls.    This problem goes back to the Crean years.   The guard has to wait for the big.   DB consistently starts his move too soon.  Chris is supposed to get to a spot and wait.   DB takes off before CO is set.

So, Otule and Gardner are stupid. Vander Blue is stupid and peaked as a player at 16. Next year we'll suck and won't be able to score. Jimmy had no injury and Buzz is a liar. And these are the things that stand out for you after a 16 point come from behind road win. You sound like a positive guy who would be loads of fun to hang with.

I agree with this. Despite some of the obvious flaws and improvement areas, I came away from that game last night feeling that the kid is going to be heard from the rest of this season.

I hope 65 leaves the pessimistic attitude in South Florida

Otule being instrumental as a defensive force during our comeback means little if he commits a bad foul.

Wait, sorry....

Can someone dig up what the UW fans were saying about Jordan Taylor his freshman year?  The guy was pathetic, he made other the other team's mouth water when he got into the game because they were ready to eat him alive.  Now they're hoping he's not an early entry for the draft.

Absolutely and completely preposterous. More often than not he was in the way.

Interesting question.
Taylor's frosh #s:
13.2 mpg
1.6 ppg
2.2 A/TO ratio
0.9 rebounds
0.2 steals
26 percent FG
19 percent 3pt FG
59 percent FT

Blue's frosh #s:
22.6 mpg
7.3 ppg
1.3 A/TO ratio
3.0 rebounds
1.2 steals
46 percent FG
19 percent 3pt FG
62 percent FT

These are the key stats. I'm afraid by playing Blue so many minutes in these close games...and exposing the fact that he's clearly a little bit over his head...we're ruining him. I'll bet Taylor's minutes came against lesser teams in one-sided affairs. Blues are coming in crunch time and he's making glaringly bad decisions. I hate to say it, but last night he reminded me of Niv Berkowitz in that Louisville game.

You do realize this is the guards fault about 80% of the time.  If they draw their defender into the screen before the screen is set, there's nothing our bigs can do about it.  Most of those fouls are on Buycks and DJO for going too soon.

NCMUFan

I think Blue's problem on the offensive side is not letting the game come to him but instead he is just going faster than he needs to.  Just play within your limitations and you will do much better.  Buycks appears to be playing much better and within his limitations.

Canadian Dimes

Wasnt Otule the sucky loser who blocked Gilchrist's layup and then secured the rebound with 8 seconds left?

Wasnt he also the loser who had our last basket?

And wasnt he also the same loser who actually hit our last free throw?

Man that guys sucks, he must have peaked in HS when he was scoring triple doubles!

65 has somehow avoided the ignore button...until now...join Chicos and willie on the bench!

+12!  Another good one!

I hope 65 himself stays in South Florida. And that he forgets his Login/Password. What a clown.
The "average fan" is an idiot.

Dear Mods.

Thank you for the ignore feature.

Guys, guys. 65 is totally right, Vander Blue was a better high school player than he ever will be at MU, Otule is in fact useless (despite the clutch defense and actually making a free throw every now and then) and it totally wasn't Buycks and DJO's fault that the game turned out so ugly in the end because they can't throw the ball in the ocean if their feet were in wet sand.

It's just like the Badger fans have been telling us. Oh why haven't we listened to them all along. I too yearn for a program that plays stellar in the regular season, gets a #2 spot and loses to an Ivy League or small conference team in the second round every year, like clockwork. (I do in fact realize that MU hasn't exactly been a bastion of postseason excellence recently)
