He may have a chance to make some noise there.  They like do like to rotate set shooters into corners off their sets.

MarquetteFan94

Great news!  This will also round out his Texas NBA rotation.

Every NBA team can use a couple of traditional players.

So True!

Rookie with Houston, brief vacation in LA, official benchwarmer in Dallas, now a possible Matt Bonner-esque role with Los Spurs!

Muy bien, Senor Novak!

Perfect fit for him in my opinion.  Marquette should have a nice presence deep into the NBA playoffs this year with Doc, DWade, and Novak.

Goose

With his shooting skills I am surprised on his not playing more. This should be a perfect fit for him. Would love to see him really take hold in SA and have long career. Best shooter I have ever seen, college or pro.

OK, let's not go overboard here.  His career 3FG% doesn't even put him in the top twenty this year.  For instance, I have a hard time calling him a better shooter than Ray Allen.  (Who might actually be the best I have ever seen.)

MU B2002

Maybe he has not seen Ray Allen.    ;)

Let's try it a different way--best 6'10" shooter ever seen.

Niow try 6"9"" shooter--who was best? I'll go with larry Bird.

How tall is Dirk Nowitzke?

7'0".

And he's a better shooter than Bird was.

Tracy McGrady called Novak the best shooter he has ever seen.... and I'm guessing he has seen Ray Allen.

AZWarrior

And the Packer's Greg Jennings referred to Donald Driver as their #1 receiver.  Perhaps they were both being diplomatic.   ;)
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Ray Allen is as sweet as they come and I understand that. My point was not the beauty of the shot but the skill of the shot. I would take Steve Novak even up against any pure shooter out there.

I would hope no one would argue the greatest pure shooter in MU history.

I don't know what this means.  Novak is basically a spot up shooter.  Allen runs off multiple screens, catches and releases.  Allen is much more "skilled" than Novak is.

+1 There isn't a better pure shooter than Ray Allen.

Wade for President

Anybody else see the recently announced field for the NBA 3 point contest, and think that Steve would win?

Year after year, I just wish fans could see Steve's supreme skill set on the biggest stage.  He would be legen...what for it...dary.

In ONE minute!  Think what he would do in 48 minutes!

He actually played 45 seconds last night.  He is averaging 192.0 points per 48 minutes in his Spurs career.

From ESPN's recap:

San Antonio signed F Steve Novak to a 10-day contract before the game. Popovich said Novak's job is to shoot when he goes into the game. Novak played 45 seconds on Tuesday, which was enough time for him to make a 3-pointer

It's good to see that Pop is clear on what Steve can do.
