UConn is good.   BTW, cracked sidewalks, part of JB's context is that he said that the team is not playing D the way they are 'supposed' to.   They are being coached to do X, but they aren't doing it on the floor.    Jimmy had a nice game by the numbers, but he left some plays out there.    Ball movement isn't what it was last year.   Last year, at the end of the first half, DB would have made one more pass to a wide open Butler in the corner rather than jacking a contested 22 ft shot.  (Jimmy should have made the follow)    The team still lacks a leader, someone who wants the ball at crunch time, who takes the team and puts it on his back.  DJO gives the ball up way too easy in those moments and they don't work hard enough to get it down low to Butler or Crowder.   Loved Chris's aggressiveness early.   CLANG.   DG has made progress.     Maybe because it has become a recurring theme, but you could almost see the body language change up 5.   Back to back posessions where nobody wanted the ball.   The players have to do it.   Buzz can call all of the TO's and draw up all of the plays, but if the players freeze.....
I am frustrated but I struggle to find 68 teams out there who I think are better than we are.    The BEast is one long gauntlet.   Lets make history and beat Syracuse.

DJO is our best offensive player, and he seemed to physically shy away from the ball at crunch time last night.  Buycks is the one guy who isn't afraid to be the guy, but I'm not sure he's the best choice...
Calvin:  I'm a genius.  But I'm a misunderstood genius.
Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

What this team is missing is (the senior version of) Lazar.   Someone to take control on the court when things are going poorly.   Someone who makes the players around him better, braver, smarter.    Someone who asks for the ball, or the defensive assignment, in crunch time.   Someone to make Jimmy look better, Buzz look smarter, someone to pass the ball to DJO in a spot where he has no choice but to shoot.

I thought we did a great job on Walker...it was his worst offensive scoring game of the year,  A very solid defensive gameplan.  But the dude is so talented--not scoring but sets up his teammates with 9 assists. NBA talent decides games. Lottery pick.
