Another Fold Down the Stretch
« on: January 25, 2011, 10:03:55 PM »
Walker schooled Buycks down the stretch. Can't stand Calhoun

I am totally sick of this crap of losing. We are not very good, but we are mediocre. We do well against the cupcakes.

Four point favorites and we lose by 8.

Throw in the towel and start dreaming of next year, although we have been out recruited by about 7 of the BEast teams for next year already
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

Willie, at least Otule had two points tonight, to go along with his one rebound.

DJO disappeared and they quit feeding Crowder and Butler down low.   If you're giving up, does that mean you will stay away?

Look, we have a pretty decent team. UCONN is #5 in the country. We are a bottom half BE team.We are going to end up pretty close to where the coaches picked us to finish. I said 9-9 and the NIT and I stick with it

Crowder couldn't score inside against size and quickness of UConn.  Only way we beat that team is to be hot from 3.  Oriakhi hardly played today because of foul trouble.

UConn is terrible matchup for us.  They're basically us, only bigger and more talented.

Yeah, I would love to have a set of long, switchable forwards.

This is what I saw.  MU in general didn't play well enough to beat the #5 team in the country.  Yes its true we had a 5 point lead with 7 minutes left but we got that lead by turning UCONN over and rushing the ball up the court so we could operate against a UCONN defense that wasn't set.  UCONN was going to eventually take care of the ball and knock down a shot.  After that we couldn't score against their set defense PERIOD.  We are a totally one dimensional team.  Drive the ball to the hole, hope for a finish or a foul call.  If we get neither we are dead, pure and simple.  We have no reliable set shooters, we have no dependable low post game.  If the refs aren't calling fouls (which they weren't) up against a team with UCONN's height we are in trouble.   This is not a choke like L-ville.  This is simply UCONN figuring us out just in time and MU only being able to play one way and us not playing precisely enough early in the game, too many turn overs to many blown defensive assignments, so we didn't have a working margin.
