Just thought I would point this out seeing that everyone is down on our non-conference record (including myself) this year.  As we all know, MU lacked any quality wins in the non-conference this year.  It should also be noted that they did not suffer any bad losses (the Gonzaga game is still up in the air, however i would not consider it a bad loss at this time).  When looking at the non-conference schedule in 05, MU lost a home game to winthrop, a road game to Nebraska, and a road game to Wisconsin.  MU did not have any quality wins in the nonconference portion of their schedule, however they were able to take advantage of a strong conference schedule and salvage the season earning an 8 seed in the tournament.  Granted, they had a signature win beating the number 2 team in the country (UCONN), however there are plenty of opportunities this year to gain signature wins in conference play.  Just wanted to point it out that although nonconference wins are very important, they are not essential to making the tournament.  At least we do not have any bad losses entering conference play.  MU has to take advantage of the opportunities at hand.

Good point.  Someone else also had a ND comparison when the had a lackluster non-con, but closed out the BE season well.  Too early to write off the tournament.  The team still needs improvement to get there, but I thought the game last night was encouraging in terms of the improvement they are making.

This year's team does not have Steve Novak raining 3's from the outside. BIG difference.

Hopefully DJO will fill the bill....

The biggest problem we have is that right now vanderbilt gonzaga and even wisconsin our 25 to 35 ranked teams and may even be teams that could very well be on the bubble with us.  the duke loss means little but those other losses could be disasterous if these teams dont creep into the top 20 by years end

using words such as disastrous is a little over the top.

I see UW-M (with a hyphen) lost by 24 points last night to Wright State.
