Agree... I listen to Chicago Sports radio for the most part, but I'll begrudgingly put on 540 to listen to Homer and Thunder to get a little local flavor, especially weeks after the Bears win. I like Homer, but the show quality is so poor compared to Chicago shows its comical and I hate all things Chicago sports for the most part... I can't imagine listening to the 2nd class (WSSP) sports radio station in the city.

At first they questioned what is going on at Marquette but a caller called in and told them about the youtube video where Reggie says Buzz was the only coach to promise nothing and he liked that.

Buzz addressed the transfer on his TV show this evening and said exactly what was written. Sorry he left as he liked Reggie but it happens all the time and is part of the way things are today. Regarding WSSP I watch Dennis Krause TV show on a regular basis and Dennis is a class act, when he is WSSP people on u can tell they have a dislike for MU by there comments and lack of knowledge in doing there homework.  I never listened to WSSP and then when I heard of there ripping the poster it became obvious who greases their pockets.

Look at the other local sports shows....

Every local show on 540 ESPN does nothing but shill for the area teams (Dlist especially) or shill for the area teams and whine incessantly about the refs (Homer).   The only criticism any of them can muster is for Favre.

Over on TMJ, Big Unit has Thompson and McCarthy so far up his rear-end, I'm surprised he can pass gas.

And even on 1250, only Sparky really has the guts to be critical of the Packers, Brewers or Bucks.

But, as usual, too many MU fans let their inferiority complex show and are concerned about harmless comments (which were retracted) on a radio show.  What do you guys want?  You have the main beat reporter (Rosiak) completely in the back-pocket of MU (like Homer, who should be ashamed of himself...he'll say plenty in private but doesn't dare to cross MU in public) and will never question anything about the MU program.   There isn't a softer sports media anywhere in the country than in SE Wisconsin.

I know that the Youtube video should be clear-cut since it came from Smith's own mouth, but I think people are overstating the importance of it. It is a MARKETING video. They want MU and Buzz to sound as awesome as possible. Yes, I believe most of the video is true, but I think if you asked Smith what he was really thinking he would say something like "Coach told me if I worked hard enough right I would play. I work hard so I should be getting minutes right away" Players are confident in their abilities and sometimes coaches play into that. Buzz may not have promised anything, but Smith's expectations were still high. Doesn't mean it is Buzz's fault, but I just don't think this video is as damning as some people think.
