Interesting match up in the garden last night between two teams projected to finish somewhere around the middle of their conferences and be bubble NCAA tournament teams. Playing in MSG a big advantage for the Redmen but a nice win nonetheless for the Big East.

Sure would've been nice to have Shurna in our starting 5. Too bad Crean whiffed on this traditional, likely to be All-BigTen player.

Shurna's dad is a friend of mine and he really wanted Marquette to get involved. The kid is the only player to win both the 3point shooting and the dunk contest at the Illinois state tournament. He's got an awkward looking shot but he literally does everything well. I think he's got an NBA shot and would indeed look great on our team.

LT, I've watched the Wildcats extensively over the past 2+ seasons and this cat's a playa. Crawford and Juice Thompson are nice pieces as well. Hoping this is the year NU pierces the bubble and goes dancing' in March.

agree, 4ever.  Some talent on the 'cats.  Shurna and Koble would both have been great gets (as would Crawford and Thompson-as stated).  Interesting that we didn't pursue Shurna.  Wonder why?

Good win for SJU.

I still don't see SJU finishing above 10th in the BE this year.

You may very well be right.  So maybe better said, bad loss for Nortwestern
