I have AT&T u-verse which comes with free mcafee internet protection. Not a fan. What has been some of your experiences with the free or paid versions of AVG?

Thanks guys1

I use the most recent free version. I've had no problems with it. IMO, anti-virus programs are a lot like commercial flights or field goal kickers: for the most part, they're either unremarkable or terrible.

Hards Alumni

no reason to ever pay for an anti-virus.

panda security is pretty good.

That or the free combo of antivir, spybot search and destroy, and adaware keeps a lot off the computer.    You can download those programs or others at majorgeeks.com

My son had some conflicts with ABG and some games.  We switched to avast and it's been great.

Had Essentials for a couple months and just lost my hard drive two weeks ago. Some sickness got in there and blew it up.
