Driving back from Cincinnati back in 2005 listening to the Bearcat broadcast team after Marquette lost to Cincy in Diener's senior season. Diener didn't play and the game was ugly.  The play by play guy asks the color analyst,  former Cincinnnati coach Chuck Machock, if Marquette can compete in the Big East.   He basically ripped Marquette and said they get the occasional player like Diener or Novak who can compete in the Big East but won't be able to sustain it.   Two years later Huggy's gone, the Bearcats season is done and Marquette's going to the tourney for the second consecutive year.
