MU gimp ONE

Does anybody have any info on Gardner and how serious the injury is?  when could we hope to see him back in action?

I saw ESPN had an insider article about him missing time, but I'm not an insider.  so if someone could share what the article mentions, that would be great.  Hopefully he isn't out too long as we are going to need him and the more minutes he can get now, the better.

Buzz said on the tv show, he's going to the doctor on Tuesday and should be back with the team on Thursday.

I was told by folks who had a view that Gardner's shoulder was popped back into place in the tunnel shortly after the injury occurred. Just sayin'.

Sorry... but I don't believe that for a second.  I've suffered from a dislocated left shoulder on two separate occasions.  The whole "pop it back in and go about your day like nothing happened" routine made popular by Lethal Weapon is complete and utter BS.  When it's out, it's utter torture to move at all, and you have no ability to use that arm for anything, even to support it's own weight.  In fact, you need to use your other arm to essentially carry the dislocated one around with you and try like hell to keep it from moving around.  I didn't see Gardner doing that.

They may have been looking at it back there and manipulating it to see if they could determine the extent of his injury, but if his shoulder was really dislocated and had to be reduced (manually popped back into place) he'd be in a sling for a few more weeks.

And he would have been probably screaming in agony until they got it back in.

No joke.  Fortunately I avoided screaming like a girl but it was close.

I watched a shoulder pop out one time...we were playing "shirts vs. skins" and the guy who disclocated his shoulder was a skin...can't really remember, but I think I screamed like a girl.  Saw a kneecap pop out (or whatever caused his knee cap to be about six inches lower than it should be) on a guy once too...when he got up they made him straighten his leg and it worked it's way back into the proper position.  That one was a little hard to watch as well.  In both cases...those guys weren't playing basketball for a while.

100% true and I speak from personal experience as well.  Tony Romo actually seperated my shoulder playing basketball 6 years ago here in Dallas...it was far and away the most painful thing I've ever experienced and have  broken some bones..I went to the hospital, almost passed out, was put on morphine..and after 2 hours of screaming pain (it was a reverse shoulder dislocation where ball popped out of scoket and got pushed behind the socket..bone on bone) the orthopedic got it back in place.

Sidneote...Tony Romo is a good basketball player..we squared off about 10 different times against each other....good shot, quick feet, good strength

Was Jessica Simpson thin or fat at the time?

I had my left shoulder pop out.  I was stunned for about 30 seconds because my arm was just hanging there... then we threw it back into place.

Everyone is different and every injury can be different.. wouldn't surprise me if Ox had a dislocation.  Maybe he and I are just a little tougher than some of you.  I flat out have a spine of steel... or titanium.

The doctor told me basically, 'tough luck... it'll take time to feel better'.  Extremely sore and very, very stiff for quite a while.

I remember playing ball at the Rec Plex.. and some dude goes up for a layup on a fastbreak.. there is contact and he ran into the wall, hand first.. he's on the ground, gets up... wrist vs hand.. was a 90 degree angle... it was stunning trying to figure out how a human limb could even look like that.

Nice.  This was during Romo's pre-Jessica years..back in 2004..so at that time.. Jessica Simpson was quite nice...

But not thin.  She always had a little thickness, which is great.  A fat Jessica > ugly pukehead Carrie Underwood.

A more realistic question: Would Carrie pork JB? I think not...

Sure I would in some circumstances.  But if you gave me the option of her and a lot of other chicks, she'd be low on the list.

I won't front, when I was on business in Rhinelander and there were no grown up movies at the hotel available, and she was on the music awards, I may have looked at her while I was doing things.  But, she's not a hot chick.

That was the same night I dislocated my shoulder.

I confess that I'm old and my eyesight's not what it once was, but I'll take Carrie Underwood over Jessica Simpson any day. Plus she's got talent - always thought even the skinny Jessica was a bit of a bimbo/pig.

T-Bone

Not to hijack the Carrie Underwood/Fat Jessica/Thin Jessica debate, but isn't Gardner's injury a shoulder sprain (or strain) and not a dislocation?

I'm like a turtle, sometimes I get run over by a semi.

so Gardner is supposed to be back for the game on saturday?

Based on the raido show today I would say no chance.

No joke.  Fortunately I avoided screaming like a girl but it was close.

I had a kid on my floor at MU in Schroeder Hall that poppep his shoulder out and he handled the pain very well.  His would slip in and out all the time.  Eventually had surgery to prevent it from happening again

1.  I have also been looking for some news on Gardner.  So he is not going to play Saturday?
2.  Can we retitle this thread "most disgusting thing I have ever seen on a basketball court"?
3.  Carrie Underwood is so much hotter than Jessica Simpson you can't even compare them, although Simpson was pretty good like 10 years ago.
4.  Romo was on my fantasy team and I don't care what he can do in other sports he is a pu$y.  So tired of hearing about his golf game.  Put me in Texas with an unlimited budget, world class athletic facilities and nothing to do all summer and I'd shoot in the 70s too.
5.  Amazing Georgetown / Mizzou game tonight that actually distracted me from watching the Victorias Secret fashion show.  Wow.

marquette99

I am pretty confident gardner plays saturday, his injury is not as serious as some of the injuries outlined here. I hate it when other people do this - but that is really all I can divulge.

Oh c'mon, just man up and tell us what his name is and when he can play!  Oh, wait, you already did.  Hope you're right.
