Marquette Basketball Weekly

Written by: noreply@blogger.com (Tim Blair)

Brad Galli and Todd Warner take you inside Marquette's CBE Classic journey in the "Turkey Tourney Edition" of Marquette Basketball Weekly. Hey, leftovers are always good.

Dick Vitale joins Brad for a trip down Memory Lane, recalling stories of Al McGuire. Todd takes a look at the unique relationship between Vander Blue and Duke's Kyrie Irving, while Brad examines the recent history between Duke and Marquette in Thanksgiving tournaments. FoxSports.com's Jeff Goodman closes the show with Todd, sharing his insight on the Golden Eagles.

Thanks for the post, Tim. We were excited to put this one together. Aside from my rooster-tail-esque hair in the Vitale interview (and of course, the rough mirror shot), we did our best with limited equipment in KC.

We literally had just gotten to the Sprint Center, fresh from the airport Monday afternoon when we bumped into Vitale, who immediately agreed to do an MU interview right away. We met him in his dressing room minutes later where the ESPN crew he was with was very welcoming to us.

Todd has developed a solid back-and-forth with Goodman over the past year and a half, and I thought his insight was valuable.

Leave your comments below and tune in next week for a brand new episode!
Would be nowhere without the support of the Marquette community. Can't beat the MU family.

Rooting for Lazar, Jimmy, Steve, Wes and Dwyane always. Go Buzz.

Nice impromptu interview with Dickie. Good questions. Those mirror shots are pretty funny though.

Nice work MUTV. It's interesting to hear both Dickie V's memories of the glory days and Goodman's take on today.

I wish Vitale would talk like that during the broadcast.  He's a lot easier to listen to when he's calm and thoughtful.

Brad Galli

He was like talking to a wise, older uncle. He asked his wife to take a picture of us with him. "Marquette TV. That's great."

He had no obligation to do anything with us. In fact, his producers were telling him "Save your voice, Dick," because of the strain on his throat. He shook them off and invited us in right away. He was a real class act.
