Which means he's likely a legit 6'5 1/2" with the standard height inflation. Wonder if he'll be a redshirt candidate with all the returning experience at the 2/3 positions.

Let's not start talking redshirts already.  Unless they are UW farmboy big men, that doesn't happen much.

Doubt it. Can't remember the last time we redshirted someone who wasn't hurt.

even Junior who was hurt didn't redshirt.

I think Juan Anderson is going to end up being better than anyone on MU's roster right now. Not only am I very high on his athletic ability and skill, but he just seems to go about his business in a way that makes me think he's going to be a big time player.

His size and versatility make this kid a stud.  Watch his star rise this year.

Buzz doesn't like to redshirt anyone, but I think you're underestimating this kid.  You can start to get a feel for how Buzz talks about kids regarding their talent level, and he talks of this kid like he did Vander.  Very differently than he talked about Otule, E-Will, Reggie, Mello, etc.  I'd be interested to know how well Wilson is playing in practice...haven't heard much.

MuMark

I heard Wilson is playing very well...................

I have no doubt whatsoever that come the 2011-12 BE season, Jamil Wilson will be starting and logging major minutes.

How so?

(a serious question...not trying to be a dick. I don't know much about JA, and have never seen him play)
The "average fan" is an idiot.

It's common that young men grow during their senior year.  Hopefully, Juan Anderson will grow to 6'10" by next fall!

Man--let's not give this guy Osccar Robertson credentials just yet. "Better than anyone on MU's roster right now"? Really, I mean really? Take a look at DJO, Butler, Blue, and so on.

I hope he does turn out that way, but until he plays a few years at MU, let's hold off on that.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

We've suffered from over hyping in the past, we are suffering from ridiculous over hyping this summer, and we will suffer from over hyping in the future. Might as well get an early start.

Redshirting isn't our history but looking at roster next season, it may be in the cards.

Redshirt??? If he can shoot he will get PT.

StillAWarrior

How often does a 4-star, top-100 guy come into a program like Marquette and redshirt for a non-medical (i.e., playing time) reason?  Let's just say I'd be extremely surprised.
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

saw this link on the other board.  This is a write up of some who saw Juan play recently.

That's good news. I would love to see a video of the game

That review would carry some significant weight if that was written by the actual Hall of Famer LarryLegend33.   I am going out on a limb and saying it isn't.

One question.  Does "Can shoot the 3 from 25" mean he can regularly hit three pointers from 25 ft. or he took one as the shot clock ran out and it went in?

Jabari Brown is a 5*, top 20 kid on scout and espn. If the author of this piece is right, saying that Anderson has "separated himself" from Brown, we're getting a helluva player.

Some positive observations of Juan from some early season action.  No idea who the source is, but I like what I hear.

EDIT: sorry I missed the earlier post on this. Scrolled too fast.

BME to MD

The reviewer at NorCalPreps posted again to say that Anderson looks like he could end up at 6'8"

Stretchdeltsig

If Juan Anderson continues to outplay 5 star opponents, when will his ratings go up?  After reading the reports on his play, it sounds like MU is getting a tremendous player.  And, wouldn't it be nice if he grows to 6'8 or 9 by next fall?
