I think a 6 is safe at this point (actually the seed I want if we can't win the BET and maybe get up to a 3 - 4 or 5 doesn't really interest me). I had a hard time coming up with even 20 teams I could say with any degree of certainty would be seeded higher than MU. Win or lose Wednesday, I think we get a 6 seed with every win beyond that causing us to move up.

I'm hoping 6 seed is as low as it could be.  I'd be disappointing in a 7 or higher.

If MU goes 1-1 in the BET, it seems like a 6 seed would be a safe bet.  Beating SJU would add another road win to the resume at the very least.

I would rather have a 6 than the cursed 5 seed.

I think we're probably a 6 now, but the way I look at is that we start out as a 7 and move up one for each win.  Beat Saint John's were a 6, beat Pitt we're a 5, and so on.

I'd take that seeding right now and be very happy.  Our second round game would be against #3 Southern Illinois, who did nothing to impress me against Creighton over the weekend.

SIU had a bad game on Sunday, but they are scary.

I have no clue how Purdue or Illinois are in

it baffles me

The thing about the 5-12 match-up that is so cursed is that it is usually a good team that limps into the tournament against a mid-major that is on a run.  I like our chances of beating the curse if we can win a game or two in the BET.  We did our limping last week, no more limping for us.

The number is irrelevant to me.  Location, location, location.  I'd take a 16 seed if it meant we could play in Chicago or StL (because of proximity to MU, not proximity to DWT).

A 3-4 seed playing in Sacramento would be brutal.

SIU may have one of the best on the ball defensive players in the cournty in Bryan Mullins.  He would give DJ a lot of trouble

We may well wind up with a six, but I want to know what would justify Virgina, Virgina Tech,  and UNLV seeded ahead of MU?

Virginia Tech may have beaten UNC, but they've also lost to NC State twice. They also have only a 5-5 record in the last 10 (compared to MU's 6-4), and an undistinguised non-conference record.

Virginia has an RPI nearly double MU's--and at least according to the RPI a loss worse than #157 NDSU in #164 Miami.  Their non-conference secheule is nothing to write home about.

UNLV's most impessive win is over Nevada--which doesn't seem like it would compare to beating Pitt, Louisville or Duke.  Meanwhile they had their own bad losses to UCSB and Wyoming.

All three teams are presently ranked behind MU, and only UNLV is ahead in the RPI.
