Prevent offense and silly fouls
« on: March 04, 2007, 12:19:43 PM »
The prevent offense usually drives me crazy and I started to yell at the tv in the bar with my fellow alum, but then I looked at the line-up on the floor and realized it was the best strategy under the circumstances.  With DJ cramping and Jerel looking like he was hitchhiking, standing out near half court while Pitt zoned us was Guinness Brilliant!  However, even when taking the air out of the ball, there HAS to be a better shot option than Fitz forcing a contested 3.   Hell, Wes shooting from halfcourt is a better option than that.   TC needs to remind his team that when they are up a lot late, concede the layup to the big guy and don't make it worse by fouling.   It gives them a chance at points with the clock stopped and to set up their press.   Neither is a desirable option.   BUT...... A well played game and a happily accepted win.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.
