can MU beat Pitt 3 times?
« on: March 04, 2007, 10:57:20 AM »
assuming we beat st. johns/uconn in the first round.. and assuming loserville beats seton hall today.

can MU beat pitt again in the second round?

we are good on a neutral floor, and we have had pitts number all year, but 3-0 against pitt in one season is going to be tough, especially with no mcneal.

There is no NCAA rule that says it cannot be done.

If Pitt keeps moving Gray out to the arc on defense, we can beat them another time----however if they play 2-3 zone like they did in the last 10 minutes----then Gray is at home underneath and they force us into a perimeter game-------in that case we'll need very good fortune on treys !

Not a problem!!! We have Kinsella shooting treys now, hes 66% on the season.

its so hard to beat a team 3 times in one year, but for some odd reason, Louisville and GT scare me a lot more... Gray is a stiff imho (not very athletic, Barro can take advantage of that), so I think we could do it

As badly as MU matches up with Gray, MU's backcourt is a MUCH worse matchup for them......Fields can't hang with DJ, and Wesley snuffs Graves out.  Here's hoping Jerel is back for SJU and MU has a chance to play for the hat trick

Pitt was very effective once they sat back in their 2-3 zone. If they get smart enough to play that way from the beginning, I'm figuring on an L.
