Junior is in charge and calm out there.  I also like his ability to dish at the basket.  Buycks is not a point.  Like Smith and Blue, but a bit wild.

You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

Because Junior isn't the up-and-down speedy point option that matches the rest of the team. I agree with your assessment, but does he suit the run-and-gun that we will often be employing? Probably not as much as Smith or even Buycks. And Blue was excellent tonight. My guess is for now, the position will continue to be a platoon.

I mostly agree.  I think Cadougan will be a solid point guard for us.  However, it's also nice to know that when he steps off the floor, we have several other guys who can initiate the offense.

Although I do not think Cadougan turned it over, he struggled agaisnt the press. He is much slower on defense than Buyckes, Blue and Smith. He had 5 assists, but probalby would have had none if Gardner was not in the game. Cadougan will not start and by year end he will play very little.

This is what jumped out at me. I was actually surprised to see so many people saying he is the best distributor when I got on here tonight. Overall, I thought he played alright but if he really struggled against Prairie View A&M's press like he did in the second half, it doesn't bode well for the rest of the season. Time will tell, and I'm not saying he won't be our starter but I have some concerns.

I like MU's backcourt depth.  The team has 3 guys (DJO, BD, Blue) who can play big mins and 2 (JC, Smith) who can play solid mins and Jones can fill in as needed with spot mins.  I'm not sure how Buzz invisions this teams style of play but with the observed skill set of the current backcourt players a strict ball handler/distributer may not be critical for success.  Buzz may be invisioning a defensive scheme where the ball is picked up 94 feet from the MU basket creating less time for the opponents to set up their offense as well as creating more TO and scoring ops which would lessen this years team's dependence on the 3 ball give the apparent lack of multiple threats from that distance... depth and options is a nice issue to have... There's no telling what's running through this coaches head so everything I just wrote is just food for thought.

One thing us fans can expect is another great season of entertaining B-Ball... good for us / me ;D

I would say Cadougan plays very little by BE season

I tend to agree...he did show some good court vision on some of his assists, however..I didn't feel very secure with the ball in his hands against the press, or pressure D - and I'd say the same with Reggie.  Certainly could be first game jitters..the good thing is they both get to square off against each other daily in practice..and should only get better at handling the pressure as the season goes on..

Surprisingly, I thought Buycks played the best at the point of the 3..
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."
