Does anyone know how these two teams are supposed to be this year? I know they arnt your typical nonconference cupcake by any means, and Green Bay took down Bucky last year while we play milwaukee on the road but how big of threats are they actually if anyone has info on them?
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Brewtown Andy

Pomeroy is picking them both in the middle of the Horizon, GB at 9-9 and UWM at 8-10.

GB ranked overall at 157 and UWM at 180.

The UWM faithful think this is their best team since the NCAA tournament teams.

Sir Lawrence

Would love to see one of them beat Madison.  UWGB could do it again.

Yeah hopefully they dont get us like bucky last year.

Anyone know their strengths and how they match up?

Except the talent level is nowhere near those NCAA tournament teams.

UWGB lost alot from last year's squad...not much in returning players. Their strength is their backcourt. Bryquis Perine and Ramon Fletcher are solid guards.  Those who went to any of the Pro Am games should remember the name Jarvis Williams, a JUCO forward. He was solid in the from what I remember from the Pro Am.

UWM's strength will probably be inside.  Anthony Hill and Tony Meier are Horizon League players. They get back Tone Boyle, who was injured last year, but had a pretty good year before that. They have questions at the PG spot. JUCO transfer Kaylon Williams need to play well.

SalsaMan

Does UWM still have that 350 pound center? That guy could hit a long three with regularity. He just couldn't sustain moving around.

Oh man, he and Devante could have a 3pt contest at halftime!

James Eayrs is gone.

UWM has a new juco PG in Kaylon Williams and sharp shooter Tone Boyle is back after missing last season due to a back injury. UWM has one of the best big men in the Horizon League in Anothony Hill. This is one of Rob Jeter's deepest team as the Panthers can play 10 to 11 strong. Most reports have the UWM finishing 3rd to 5th in the Horizon League.

Green Bay has a great back court in Flectcher and Perine. Some of you may have seen juco transfer Jarvis Williams at the Pro-Am. Green Bay fans like 7 foot 1, Alec Brown.

Anyone remember the Chicago State chugger named Kielbasa?  Perhaps the best overweight Big name since Load Moore.

i think rob jeter's deepest team is an oxymoron, sorry panther
Warrior in the class of 2011.

PGsHeroes32

Good to hear about them both. Hopefully we can win both games solidly and send a bit of a message as they are not typical slouches. UWM will definitly be no easy game since its at their place.

First, it's mupanther.

Why do you think it's an oxymoron if a team has a deep bench?

Probably because he doesn't understand what an oxymoron is.

UWM sucks thats what I mean. You should be laughing at the idea that the team is either deep or talented this year....Ricky Franklin and James Ayers are gone oh no!!!! How will jeter be able to pick up the pieces now?

Can't say I know enough about UWM basketball to say whether or not Rob Jeter has ever had a deep team or not, but calling the prospect of this being his deepest team an oxymoron is an error simply by definition.

Oh, wait! Unless he meant that he recruited a German streetpunk band to play basketball for UWM. mupanther, have you seen any of these guys on campus?

Are you talking about UWM players on campus? No I havn't, I don't go to school. I work for a living.

I have full season-tickets to both Marquette and UWM. My wife and I never miss a game. So yes, I have seen the Panthers twice in exhibiton play and I went to the black and gold game.

You don't like UWM, fine what do I care.

UWM now has a true point guard. There best player is back, after misssing all of last season with a back injury. UWM is big on the front line. Look out for high-flyer transfer Ryan Allen off the bench.

Yes, we will see how things play out. Games are not won on paper. The eye test to me, this looks like a better team than last season in which they won 20 games a season ago.

Alright Mupanther, as a fan of both teams and someone who has season tix for both what is your take on the game and what do you believe the outcome will be as of where we stand now?

Since MU always plays games on the road so close, why would this be any different. Alot might have to do with MU"s week in Kansas City versus Duke than KSU/Gonzaga. Will they have a great win, heartbeating lose?

That being said, I see the point spread as MU a four point favorite and MU winning by 7 points. (As of today)

I agree with you.  this is a much better UW-M team than in recent years with the return of Tone Boyle, the addition of the PG as well as the emergence of Anthoy Hill late last season.  This not a game to be overlooked as MU struggled last year against the Panthers at the BC and this year's game is at the Arena ( screw the "Cell" nonsense as thats just advertising ).

Plus, UWM has another juco transfer in Ryan Allen. His brother played in the NBA. Ryan Allen is a high-riser and can get his own basket, something that UWM really lacked in years.
