Michigan 67- Illinois 65

C'mon, admit it.   How many of you saw that score and just briefly thought that the basketball game between those two probably would not have so many points?    And for you stat-heads out there, what percentage of B? basketball games from last year had fewer points scored?

Watched the game on the telly while streaming MU.  Never saw such pathetic defense...the announcers called it "touch football" and were spot on.  RichRod may have saved his job by getting bowl eligible, so long as he has the common sense to fire Greg Robinson.

It took me about 40 seconds to realize that Big 10 basketball conference play had actually not started and that that was a football score...

maybe a piece of more than you needed to know, but its actually Rich Rod that set Greg Robinson up to fail.  when he brought him in, RichRod forced Robinson to run the exotic 3-3-5 scheme that his D-Coordinator at WVU had used.  While Robinson has had defensive success running more traditional schemes, he had no experience in the 3-3-5, and even less personnel for it.  so in essence, he hypocritically set Robinson up to fail by denying him the exact "its all i know, give me time regardless of personnel i have here" defense he has used.  instead, he is forcing an older experienced coach to try to learn a totally different defense on the fly.

that being said, he still needs to fire him. its just not a good fit, and RichRod will keep insisting that someone run the chaotic 3-3-5 that served him well in morgantown.

Saw a stat that none of the past 3 Michigan vs. Illinois mens basketball games have surpassed the 132 points scored in the football game yesterday.
