I know it's one game, and a meaningless one on that, but how good could he be if he made the layups where he gets bumped and made more free throws. He can draw the foul like no other, but I was disappointed to see 5-10 for FT's today.

This was the first time they have shot in the BC all year.

He does need to finish better then he did today though.

Jimmy is coming back from a head injury that affects each person differently.  Concentration (things like math skills, short term memory) can be affected well beyond when initial medical clearance is granted--even throughout a day.  Folding in activity with rest is the usual method of treatment.  Doctors monitor progress carefully. 

Signs:  He was not looking for shots, played limited minutes, and really was just stepping up to the line and shooting.  Give him time to recover--sometimes these effects last 6-8 weeks. 

He actually played better than I expected.

Agree with previous.  Still looked like JB was feeling the effects of the concussion.  His stamina and energy level was a little down, however he'll be ready when we need him on Nov. 22nd

Jimmy Butler finishes better than anyone on the team.  Kids are taught to go right at the offensive players chin, and that's exactly what he does.  If he didn't do that, we wouldn't be talking about him not finishing (usually drawing a foul), but instead we'd be talking about him getting blocked.  The fouls he draws are huge for MU, and the way he finishes down low makes it possible for someone his size to get so few shots blocked.

This is an absurd statement. He's had problems with this for two years. Many times he anticipates contact that isn't there. He definitely has issues around the basket. I don't know if it's because he doesn't want to go to the line or if it's injury related, but it's not a new issue.

Jimmy needs to knock down his FT's because he gets to the line so much.  I felt like he did not play much and went to the FT line 10 times.  Jimmy Butler lead the nation in OFF EFF last year per Ken Pom. So anybody that says he cannot finish just does not understand basketball.  He is wing player trying to finish against big East center's and OFF EFF tells you either he finish's or gets fouled almost every time.  You cannot lead the whole nation in this category and be bad at Finishing.

Butler seeks out the foul. He does not avoid contact. Sometimes there is contact that is not called.
