FITZ
« on: March 03, 2007, 11:59:25 PM »
Did anyone else feel he was a liability in last 10 minutes of second half? He can't play D down low and he sucked from deep. I hate to be so negative , but he was a liability. I would rather have a walk on guard than a guy who appears to be a liability every time he touches ball. Did anyone else wonder why we didn't bring in Burke or Lott for possible defensive switches? I know that Fitz is a better free throw shooter.

Fitz is a pertty good rebounder.  Watch how many times he tips a rebound out to someone else.  His shot was off tonight but he streaches the defense because they have to respect his outside shot.  I don't think he 's a bad defender.  The second foul called on him with a brutal call.  The guy jumped into Fitz.

What is the reason that he never gets the call?

The calls I saw were pretty good.  The guy never sets his feet, is too slow to stick with guards, and hacks against the bigs.  He seems shocked that refs call fouls when you slap the shooter on the arm.  His touch fouls against bigs leading to 3 point play opportunities drove me nuts.  If you're going to foul, take away the easy 2.

I'd start Lazar over him anyday.

It just looks like he plays without confidence and drive.

I also remember a guy by the name of Steve Novak having the same problems his junior year. Let's hope he works as hard as Steve.
