Looks as if he may be out for the year, his right wrist is in a cast and he is in street clothes. This doesn't look good and could be a huge blow to the team.

MilTown

Other board says he hurt his thumb in practice. This sucks.

Pakuni

And the complaints about Crean working guys too hard in practice down the stretch arrive in 3 ... 2 ... 1  ...

What is the prognosis? I never thought we would have won without him. I have to say that Pitt fouls quicker than anyone down the stretch based upon our two games. They are very efficient.

77ncaachamps

Looks like a protective cast rather than a solid cast. I say he's back in a week.

It will be interesting to see if they rush him back to action for the BET or if they wait for the NCAA.  Last time he was injured he was a bit rusty his first game back.

IAmMarquette

Crean said during his pre-game jumbotron address that Jerel injured his thumb in practice, not his wrist.

He is out for the season.  He broke it.

Where did you hear this?  Not saying you are wrong, just curious.

Heard it from a pretty good source.  I hope as much as the next guy that it is untrue.

Strange, on the broadcast they said the x-ray showed a sprain.

Let's hope that's all it is.  I suppose we will find out tomorrow or Monday.

I'm actually glad it wasn't leaked until tonight before the game.  With all of the doom and gloom sometimes, it would have sapped a lot of energy out if this was the only thing talked about the last 24 to 48 hours.  Smart move to keep it bottled up as much as possible.

Reminds me of what UCLA did with Tyus Edney in the finals against Arkansas in 1995 and didn't announce he was out until about an hour before the game...Cameron Dollar ended up playing like a champ and the Bruins won the title.
