College Gameday Hype is nice, but.......

We need a W today! The gameday buzz will only get us so far. We need to execute and not let the excitement take us out of our game. We need some momentum to build on entering the BE tourney. Pitt is banged up, but they have a lot riding on this game including avenging an earlier loss to us, and last years finale. I'm sure Dixon will have his guys ready to play. Barro must come up huge today. Intensity will be key. I know our guys will come out fired up, but we need to conserve some of our energy and bring it in the second half.

Plus, please.  The hype will win the game.  All the team needs is maybe their C game, and the buzz alone will bring them a win.  I doubt they'd even need 5 guys on the floor the whole time.  Lott, Kinsella, and Kuphall are playing all 40, for sure.

It was a tremendous 1 hour infomercial for Marquette basketball.  How could you not love it?

I agree we need to do everything we can to win, but we're in the tournament.  Just look at all the bubble teams they went through today, our resume is vastly superior to everyone of them.  I would love a win tonight as well.  Most importantly, I want the guys to play well which is of utmost importance to me.

Great job by the students today.  If the crowd tonight is like the students were this morning, I like our chances.

Go back and look at my original post and you will see that I never said anything about not liking college game day. I think it's great and I love seeing us on TV. College gameday is great and it seems that they let the kids be themselves instead of making some prepackaged view of the fans. While all the hoopla is fun, the only thing that matters in the end is the outcome of the game. This team is struggling and winning this game could bring some much needed momentum as we head into the BE and NCAA. I hope the team and coaching staff stays focused on the task at hand and doesn't get caught up in the hoopla.
