Amigos, Whales on Wells, the Ham & Egger, Angelos.  Where do kids eat nowadays?  They can't eat Real Chilli 7 days a week!

Don't you know we are supposed to pay on average $11 per meal at McCormick or use an $11 meal swipe for a bagel??? Where have you been.

I haven't been in Milwaukee in a while and haven't lived in on campus housing since 1983.  Times have changed, but Real Chili remains.  I was even sort of surprised Angelos still existed.

i wasn't aware that anyone actually liked blows. (hence it's nickname: blows)

Agreed. They squander a great location like no one else. I'm not sure what the future situation is, but hopefully some new owners can make it a legit bar.
BEARS STILL SUCK

Hey Vikings, I like what you've done with the basement.

?? That place was great when 19/20 yoa...they didn't even card.

Rick's On Wells was the best, but pretty short lived I think.

Guilliano's had the charm of getting a slice and a beer for $2 served to you by a 12 year old.

Pretty amazing how sterilized campus has become since, I assume, drinking went to 21+. This is what happens when you eliminate 2/3rds of the college campus from drinking at the bars. (Legally, at least...)

jaybilaswho?

Driking in Angelo's was only done by underagers, but damn it... they can make a great pizza.

Agreed.  I'll be missing their pizza :(

Slim

It is sad, but I would miss Real Chili 100x more.

MUfan12

Anyone know why they're closing? Served one too many minors? I hope it's just not a case of MU gobbling up another building.

Sad to see it go, I did enjoy their pizza. Might have to call an audible on dinner tonight.

Blue Horseshoe

Blows pizza is awful. However, I'll still miss the place and am curious to see what will take its place.

MU gyros may be next...

Back in the day, we had a Gyro place next to the 'Lanche called Charcos... actually pretty good after a night out drinking.  Another place on Wells I remember is Marquette Donuts.  Must be gone by now as well.

Is Cousins still on 17th and Wisc?

hdog1017

It was a great place to go when you didn't have anything in the world to show that you were of drinking age.  I liked going there on random weekday nights to talk to some of the locals in there.  I had an hour long conversation with some old lady about moose.

WellsstreetWanderer

Angelos was good pizza back in the day. two guys ,one pizza and two cokes for $2

Remember the time some guys bolted without paying the bill and ran to our house on 16th and Kilbourn. Angelo's cooks followed them right in. Made them pay up

Cousins moved to 12th and Wells for several years, then moved back to 17th and Wisconsin in a new building a few years ago.

Thats because American Euros is so much better -street cart by the library-

Don't think I went to blows very often. Drank their once. Ate their once. Pizza was good.

Gonna have to dust off my old idea of starting a bar called Red Door (in memory of my Thursday night drinking spot when I was a freshman) Cheap Beer, bad music, wet floors and free vodka shots. Anyone want to bankroll that?

DiaperDandy

Blows pizza was the best.  Couldnt beat there pitcher and pizza deal on sundays.  Best memory was 2005 world series drinking in there as a freshman after the white sox won the world series.  The place was nuts!
