Nice to briefly meet one of the crucial behind-the-scenes people who keep the program humming.    Nice picture of Buzz and his family.   Touched on the emotional toll that being away from the family has on both Buzz and the family.    I have to believe that Buzz' private jet explains why the MU hoop budget is so high.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Probably my favorite episode yet, because it featured my man crush, Buzz Williams!  What I took from this was how "gratitude aware" Buzz is - toward virtually everything in his life.  A common theme in his character.  Second, I'd love to sit through one of Buzz's in home's or meetings with a recruit and his family.  Think his approach on recruiting is genius - emphasize the culture and what's required - not promise a kid the world and give him the impression it's going to be seashells and balloons all along the way.  Think Buzz actually recruits in a way that doesn't sell the kid so much on the program, as much as challenges a kid to see how much he wants to be a part of the culture and hard work of the program - which should result in MU landing tough-minded kids, who are not afraid of a challenge.

Flying into Baltimore...gotta be Faust, right?  Is Buzz recruiting anyone else in Baltimore?

Buzz and Aki were at DaMatha last month too ... probably looking at Jerami Grant and at least one other kid (forgot the name)

The nice thing is that with the success of Wes and hopefully Lazar, there is a track record that the culture yields results. That's invaluable in terms of credibility.

That would be Michael Hopkins.

Yeah.  5 star outta the west side of B'More.  Dude kills it.

This guy looks like he is 35 years old. Must have tons of eligibility in Md.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

That would be Michael Hopkins.

Are we really in on Mikael Hopkins?? That would be amazing.

He is a 2011 4star big man, #37 nationally on Scout and in the 70s on Rivals and ESPN, in case anyone was wondering.

Omar and Stringer in a package deal.

Would Omar's lifestyle choices be acceptable at Marquette?
And no, I'm not talking about his penchant for robbing dope dealers.

Only other one at Dematha besides Grant.  Their stud PG Quinn Cook blew out his knee and I believed transferred to a prep school.  Unless Dematha has an underclassman they are looking at.  But Hopkins is the star of that team and probably best player in DC area.

Omar and Avon Barksdale would not be the right fit for the Jesuit community.  Not "towers" to hang out at.

I'd say its more likely James Robinson, a 2012 pg who says hes been hearing from MU a lot lately. Rated #49 nationally by ESPN. I guess I'd take him too....

Hopkins' AAU coach just came out with a list in an article yesterday and MU wasn't on it.

Wow, DeMatha Catholic has crazy talent. Cook, Grant, Hopkins, Robinson--4 4stars in a 2 year stretch. It'd be great if Buzz could make some inroads there, although there are a lot of top programs in that area of the country.
