Boot Camp returns

The scourge of Marquette Golden Eagles -- Boot Camp -- is back.

This was a good article including a pretty good interview of Buzz at the end.

It's too bad that the Journal Sentinel has continued to pair down their RSS feed article blurbs to the point that they're not even teasers anymore.  They need someone to take over their web department and deliver a more effective web strategy.

Very nice update.  But I think Buzz is confused about where we were picked in the Big East.  He says based on our mirror opponents we were picked in the "bottom quarter", and that three of St. John's, Seton Hall, Providence, and Cincinnati had to be ahead of us.  No way 13-16, I'm thinking 9 or 10.

I wonder if the Twitter feed for the blog has to do with that. The first post here is exactly what showed up in my feed with a bit.ly link instead.

That could very well be.  They're just too lazy to have separate blurbs so it's just the same blurb with separate links.

Did Tom Crean have a form of Boot Camp?

Well yes, glad you axed. Just a little variance from what Buzz does. The morning session would begin with 1 hour of hard and fast tanning followed by instruction on how to properly tie one's tie. Generally, Tom would give some sort of motivational speech on a topic like, "The art of selling used cars or snake oil to the unsophisticated."
Afternoon sessions broke up into smaller groups focusing on riding ATVs, karate lessons, and how to properly sit in a hyperbaric chamber. Guest lecturers and tight friends such as Mike McCarthy, Tommy LaRussa, and of course, the Harbaugh kin would address the team prior to dinner, all this while never mentioning the coach's personal barber. Each evening concluded with the team repeating Tom's creed by which he lives his everyday life, "family above all else."

Back in the day, we ran a year long session called Booty Camp.
