My son got married yesterday.  The wedding colors were a very tasteful sapphire blue and champagne gold.  The tables for his side of the family/friends were named after his favorite things about MU basketball.  (We were sitting at the Al McGuire table)
We took a picture of all the MU alums (both the bride and groom are alums) and current MU students.  Don't have an exact count yet but the estimate was 60-70.  the oldest MU alum was my dad (class of '56) and the youngest is my son who started last week.
They played the MU fight song we had a rousing sing along and then We Are Marquette.
Some Badger fans in attendance tried a weak "Let's play football" chant that was quickly drowned out.

Anyone on this board have any Marquette themes for their weddings?

Mazel Tov!

Seashells and balloons to the newlyweds. May their home overflow with little Warriors and Warriorettes.

I have no doubt your son's bride was lovely. I assume she wore:

Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue ... and gold
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.

May they have many, many, many years of happiness, patience and trust.

I was also at the wedding.... here's the picture that warriormom was talking about.

Looks like this may have set the bride's folks back a few sheckles.

Was at a MU wedding earlier this summer where the wedding party was introduced to Where The Streets Have No Name. Loved that.

Went to a Crean themed wedding once. It was a shotgun in the back of a bar on State St. Bride and groom arrived in a stretch Hummer and wore karate outfits. They took their vows in a hyperbaric chamber after riding in on ATVs. Groomsmen all had bad haircuts and their ties were about 4 inches too long. Sat at the "tanning bed" table where the center piece was a bottle of snake oil.
Speech by the best man focused on family, yet the groom got rid of several ushers and replaced them with others. Doubt that the marriage lasts more than 9 years, but I'll reserve judgment for the first 5.

They also were introduced to Where the Streets have No Name with hometown and heights.....of course all the guys put down their "roster" heights.

Again, this is why we need to allow all Crean threads and posts.  LMAO.

I spent hours editing "Sreeets" to match the opening for the intro of the wedding party. We actually had the reception at the AMU, which turned out to be great: student bartenders make the best mixers.

simply amazing.

Long live the Blue and Gold and may the blessings of life fall upon your son and his wife as well as your families!

Don't worry I'm sure they have a contract through 2029, so it should be fine.
