Pretty favorable towards MU.  Worst case scenario has us finishing in the middle of the pack is very Marquette friendly.

PGsHeroes32

I was basically gona say what kips said.

Best case has us competeing for the conference title, and the worst case really isnt even a worse case and was bascially speaking the obvious. Hopefully we can turn the corner this year and not have the new guys have freshman struggles, i dont want to wait for 2011 to win big games.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

I'll take that best case/ worst case scenario. Let's hope DJO makes that leap he is ready to take. It's been a tough decade for DePaul fans, but that write-up was brutal. Kick 'em while they're down. It sounded like he wasn't even taking their program seriously. They're just a total joke.

but then again, they did beat us.

Seems a little too favorable to me. I am optimistic about this year, but I honestly don't really think there is any chance that we will win the conference. If by compete he means be in the top 1/3 of the conference then I agree, but to me "competing" means having a realistic shot to win it. I don't see that happening until the following year. Too many questions and unproven players this year.

"Vander Blue, whose name is decidedly awesome"- this line is decidedly awesome

This is basically saying that there is a very small probability of us missing the tournament.  I'll definitely take that after losing Lazar.  I am going to go out on a limb and say we are going to get a higher seed in the tournament this year than last year.  Bold, but I am going with a 5 seed.

Agree with all of your analysis.  Think Jae Crowder will surprise and do a decent Lazar impersonation, and DJO, Buycks and Jimmy all take their game to another level.  Throw in improvement from Fulce, and solid contributions from Cadougan, Vander, Reggie Smith and Otule - think a 5 seed in the NCAA is possible.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

Eamonn Brennan is probably the worst national blogger in college hoops.  Even a prediction of MU competing for the BE title won't change my mind of that.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Despite all of the injured evidence, i think otule will make at least a dwight burke contribution this year, if not better. i'm just rosy about otule.

If Otule plays unflinching defense and grabs every rebound that comes within three feet of him, I'll consider this season a success for him.

I want to be optimistic, but Otule broke one foot his first year and the other foot his second year. It is a good thing he has only two feet. Basically I see Otule playing against big centers and MU going small (Butler, Crowder and Fulce) against smaller teams.

It is hard to predict where MU will finish. Last year would have been a total disaster if we would have lost those three overtime games in a row instead of winning them. Even with those wins I do not think a 22-12 year is anything to brag about. There are more bad teams in Big East this year than last and overall I think the conference is easier. Stay away from serious injuries and have lady luck bounce our way more and we could finish in the top 4. I would say the range is 4 to 11.
