MU vs Gonzaga

So I was talking to a gonzaga grad about the tourny in November. He said he would put all his money on gonzaga to win this game. I just think he doesn't know much about our team other than we lost our best player to the draft.

Imo we should beat this zaga team handily. I know it is early, but what do you guys think about the matchup?

Don't know alot about who Gonzaga returns - lost arguably their best player - Boldin.  Think they have a pretty good big man..but...I'd put a good chunk of money on MU.  Gonzaga is well coached, good system..kind of similar to Wisconsin - but think they will struggle with MU's athleticism...length (yes, I said length for an MU team!).

We fair pretty good in tournaments.  Alaska Shootout, beating Duke in CBE finals, runnerup to Duke in Hawaii the next year, runner up to Florida State this year. Buzz and the Boys will be ready.

Zags win.  I don't care about a CBE Championship.  I want to go to the Sweet 16 in March.

I just don't get the surprise stuff.  Everyone knows who Marquette is.  Also, if we are sweet 16 material, we should beat the Zags and be in the finals of the CBE at the very least.

I'm not a bookmaker but I'm in WCC country (Santa Clara) and watch the (sometimes agonizing) matchups. I feel that it's a great matchup but without Lazar, it's hard to say how this team will perform...but on paper, it looks good.
