We made another website, oversigning.com which does a good job explaining why oversigning is a rule the NCAA needs to get a handle on.

Oh no, not oversigning.com!
With this kind of heat, Buzz might as well start looking for a new career.
Then again, being compared to Nick Saban might not be the worst thing in the world.

I must say, however, you continue to impress with your ability to unearth every obscure Web site out there whenever there's something negative about MU to be found.

setting up a google alert for "buzz williams" isn't that tough

Great, another thread.

Here's what I would love to know. I've been reading about this NLI stuff on here all day. I realize it's a binding contract - so long as certain terms are met. One of these terms is that the athlete is applied and accepted to a school. If there's funny business regarding the acceptance, that's one thing, but there should be NO funny business surrounding the application. WHY didn't DJ Newbill even have a Marquette application submitted? Shouldn't that be step 1a on his list of things to do if he was so gung-ho about this school?

I know these aren't significant or heavily-read sources, but Marquette Basketball is getting more bad press than I can remember in a very long time...hope its all worth it, no matter our level of fault in this situation....

Some douchebag with an agenda and a blog (or a moniker on a message board) is not bad press.  It's completely irrelevant.

I've been viewing this site for a long time. There have been a lot of idiots and even more idiotic comments (especially those made from badger fans), but I have always been able to quell the urge to register an account and point out the idiocy. After reading your drama-queen posts the last 2 days about the newbill-wilson fiasco I couldn't help it anymore. What do you plan to gain from making comment after comment, thread after thread restating your position over and over. We understand you're upset and that you want everyone that has ever enjoyed a Marquette basketball game ever to be upset about it too --- but that will never happen.  You have NO IDEA what actually happened here and you NEVER WILL. Many of the people you're trying to convert are just as convinced that you're the one that must be converted. So do yourself a favor, quit whining about the subject unless you have something new and groundbreaking to say and just enjoy Marquette basketball.

/end random rant from a nobody.

I mean to give these people no credibility whatsoever. Im just saying, how often besides this incident is Marquette written about in a bad light by people who aren't Bucky fans? I know the internet culture of today gives a lot of people waaaaay too loud of a voice, but this is still negative....exposure, I'll call it.

By the way, I'd expect this much from random blogs, but the ESPN headline on their cbb page was shameless. Since when does losing your 13th player to have a stud waiting in the wings equate to "Major turnover on Marquette roster"??

Google alert, try it.  They come to me, I don't search for them at all.  Anything else....do you want to add more input on how the Newbill family is lying as you implied today?

ATWizJr

At this point, the Newbill camp is saying and doing anything it can to make DJ look as sympathetic as possible.  I believe that all parties knew what the deal was and that the Newbill camp is now trying to save face.

Umm ... where exactly did I imply anything of the sort?
Don't worry ... I don't actually expect a reply because you'll figure out I made no such implication and then pretend you never said this. In fact, you'll discover I haven't said a single word, good or bad, about the Newbill family.
You and your brother in arms are pretty good about making accusations, not so good about backing them up.

GGGG

Chicos...I generally like your thought process on a number of topics.

But you really need to learn the line between making a good point, and pissing everyone off when you don't eventually just let it go.

Considering ESPN is Connecticut-founded and based, and that MU has performed quite well against UCONN since joining Big East play (as well as against the rest of the league), perhaps there is a bias against MU by the writer of such article?  I do not like negative publicity, and I sincerely hope Buzz learns from this..that no matyter what deal you have going into a deal...the player can always spin it in a negative light.  Fortunately, thus far..Buzz's recruiting hasn't been impacted by any of this..and we've probably never had as much talent assembled at MU..and we are on the verge oof becoming a Big Time program..and that may cause some insecurity toward MU..and result in a desire to pain MU in a bad light...

You provide us with almost all of the negative stories about MU that are posted on this board and almost none of the positive ones. Do you have a filter on your Google alert that only sends you obscure sights that rip MU?

Two questions:

1.  Do you think its possible that other NCAA coaches might know of this site and print a copy of their article for future reference?

2.  Do you think that if any of those coaches find themselves in competition for a recruit with MU that they wouldn't include a copy in their communications with recruits?

Big time college basketball coaches live in glass houses. They needs to be careful what they dig up because another coach could likely find similar dirt on them.

Exactly.  How naive to think that a coach is going to actually print out a STORY FROM THE INTERNET and send it along with recruiting materials?  HA HA HA

Terrific debut. Reminded me of in a movie where a fringe character pops up at a random time and lets everyone else know how ridiculously they are acting with an epic rant no one saw coming.  This jumps to mind...

Does anyone in this room consider the possibility that there's more to this story than meets the eye? Perhaps it is possible... and I certainly hope so.

Marquette is legally prohibited from sharing certain elements of any student or prospective strudent's academic and social records with the general public. And with good reason. Perhaps Buzz is taking the heat for someone who for some reason we'll never know may not fit at Marquette. It's possible that Buzz and Marquette are taking heat so the student doesn't have to.

Look, the bringing on of Jamil as DJ says goobye looks unappealing in the worst way. But remeber that looks can be deceiving.

Maybe I am wrong... but I don't know and until I do, I'm unwilling to judge.

Where do you see a specific personal attack. Just looks like a general rant about the postings here.
