Buzz is assembling quite a roster.

People said about the great Miami, FSU football teams of the 90's and the U$C & Florida teams of the 10's that their first team was a top 5 team but their second team was a top 10 team....eluding to their recruiting prowess and depth across the board where they would destroy other good teams and wouldn't rebuild the following year but rather reload every season with stars in the wings to replace stars to the NFL or graduation.

In short the constant of pipeline of talent that Buzz continues to attract from 1-12 is pretty awesome and I got a feeling he'll grab two more studs this fall for the 2011 class.

Buzz also is a very tough coach....but I mean that in a good way as he doesn't get great talent and then let them coast like Pat Kennedy did at DePaul where his roster looked like Tarzan but played like Jane.  There will be no sense of entitlement from any player at MU under Buzz and he'll get every ounce out of the talent he'll have to work with like he has the last two years with some very good talent but not a depth of talent where a key injury to a Dom James was the difference between being a great team and a pretty good team.  Cream will rise and some transfers will be inevitable as Buzz doesn't try to be all things to all people and realizes the program is bigger than any player, coach, etc.  However as we've seen he's quick to replace them with equal or greater talent and the program won't miss a beat (see Maymon for Crowder/Wilson).

The Little 12 f'ed up by not raiding the Big East and destroying the conference to Wisconsin's benefit as Marquette is going to be a force to reckon with over the next five years.....enjoy the ride as it should be fun.

I hope you realize the irony of what you just posted.

Miami...went on probation.

FSU....went on probation.

USC...went on probation

Florida.....not yet at least.

Chicos once again there to burst the bubble of any positive post anyone makes.

Regardless I still kind of like u Chicos as at least you are an individual who doesn't follow the crowd and will stand up against a thread even though you will sometimes get attacked for doing so.

I was with duanewade for about 11 words, until he made the comparison to a bunch of old, dirty, irrelevant college football teams. Not exactly the type of company we need to be mentioned with at the moment.

And while Buzz is 100% on the right track towards building a deep roster that can contend year after year, he is a long way from reaching that goal. Pipelines like that are built over 6-8 recruiting classes, not 2.

Barry Alvarez put Wisconsin on probation too.

Don't think Buzz is handing out money, shoes, or not making our guys go to class.

But he did put a recruit on a wait list....oh wait that's allowed by the NCAA and hell even graduate schools across the nation.

In football, So has Alabama, Ohio state, Michigan.   Every top program has been hit in football.  Maybe the better point is recruiting in football has been super competitive/unethical for 10 years and I think basketball is starting to catch up.

Not a good analogy, but you are all missing the point, which was a good one and shouldn't be lost in all this.

Ready2Fly

No matter how you order the 1st/2nd teams here, we definitely are deep.  Once again, the only ? comes from the 5 position.

Butler

Jones
Crowder
Williams/Fulce

Throw Smith into the mix and Wilson in practices, and that's a hell of a second team, no matter how you shuffle that second team.

What about Penn State?  Be careful throwing that word, "every" around.

Also, I'm pretty sure Michigan only faced scrutiny recently under Rodriguez.  Ironically, this happened when Michigan fell from its "elite" perch.

LOL. We are almost becoming too deep.

I agree the team is deep and that is what Buzz said his goal was. However, the 11 thru 13th player are not going to play and with Buzz's MO the first two years the 9th and 10th player are not going to play. So was it really worth dropping Newbill for a talented player that might not even play much?

Wilson can fill in nicely for Butler after Butler graduates this year.  I think he will play.

LAZER

I am eagerly waiting for Wilson to teabag some stiff on Wisconsin in December of 2011 and i look to my buddies and ask "whatever happened to that kid from Philly who was bumped by Wilson? What was his name again?"

Shoegate.  Probation for 5 years starting in 2001.

OK...but you said "Alvarez got them on probation."

That was a case where a booster was giving all sorts of athletes shoe discounts...it had nothing to do with Alvarez.

And Bobby Bowden never told the FSU players to cheat on tests... it always falls on the coach, be it negligent oversight, etc.,etc.

Unfair or not.
