If they dont replace Nebraska and Colorado, I think the B12 is easily the best conference (top to bottom).

At the end of this past season, the B12 was No.2 in the Pomeroy Conference ratings (behind the ACC). Losing Colorado and especially Nebraska trimmed them of a lot of dead weight. Even better, they could move to an 18 game conference schedule and play every team twice.

Statistically, maybe. They could cement that possibility if they went out and added Memphis and Louisville to the B12 North. You could easily have 5 NCAA tournament teams just in the Big 12 North then..... and Memphis (easily) and Louisville would jump at the chance to join a better and more stable football league, and definitely would be okay with Texas' unequal revenue share.

Interesting observation.  The powers that be say the Big 12 will play full round robins in football and basketball.  That's a very unique situation that I really like as a general fan (my rooting interest has obviously moved).

I am not sure Louisville wants to be with Memphis.

Why not? Any reason? With Memphis, geography fits and you get $10 mil a year from FedEx.

They used to all be part of the same conference...Memphis, Cincinnati, Louisville, Florida State, Va. Tech, Georgia Tech, Tulane, Southern MIss.  The old Metro conference.  I think even SLU was part of that league

There'll definitely be no expansion until after the remaining members divvy up Nebraska's and Colorado's exist fees.  After that I don't see Memphis or Louisville adding value to their TV package, just diluting everyone else's share, even including the revenue from the championship game.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

HoopsMalone

In hoops, someone has to have a losing record.  Colorado and Nebraska for the most part padded 2-4 more wins for each team in the Big 12.  Now that is gone.

Why, no one likes Memphis. That is why Fedex is offering $10 mil a year for someone to take them and no one seems to be jumping at it. The only other school that seems to be less liked is Baylor.

Mr. Nielsen

5 of the 10 Big 12 schools are in Andy Katz Top 25 for next year. Texas is close to be in the top 25, so you could have 6.
